all I have heard my Villa say during his time is that he has been gash since his 2nd season and Barry was inconsistent. Differs from what you say.

Its what happens when players leave a club, it is revisionism.

Got to love MLS commentators, so impartial and lacking in emotion:
Alex Dixon Goal - YouTube

To be fair, I know at least in NHL the teams have their own team channels (broadcasting the games) with their own set of commentators. So they are always partial because for example watching the Detroit red wings game on the red wings channel will have 90% red wings fan :p

Mata apparently in London for a medical today, Modric not travelling for Spurs vs Utd because "his head's not in the right place" according to Redknapp. Could be an interesting end to the transfer window.

Any truth to Arsenal going for Hazard?

Oh, also, me and some friends somehow ended up watching the Chelsea game on a projector in a room to ourselves in an O'Neils in Leytonstone because they were showing the rugby in the main bit of the bar - result.

Brilliant goal by Gabby. If that had been a Rooney or a Tores the MOTD presenters would have wanked on about for 10 minutes longer.

Difference is Rooney and Torres generally put in those performnaces most matches Gabby has no consistency at all. So there's no point talking about something that would be considered a fluke :p

SSN reporting additional 2 game UEFA ban for Wenger following 'rule breaking' over his touchline ban vs Udinese.

Good start to the season for the Gunners.

Yep, apparently the loophole of communication via a 3rd party was not a loophole.

In reality though, the press have earned him this ban by bleating on about it, I doubt UEFA cared.

Its the match officials fault Wenger asked the Ref about passing messages and he said sure thing. Sky pointed it out to the 4th official who put a stop to it. He reported it and the Ref has not come out and said actually I told him it was OK. <-- That's from the blogs the day after the game but it would explain why Wenger did not even try to hide it.

Mata be a force to reckon with in years to come. Hope he gets plenty of time on the pitch.

As for Wenger, yes the media coverage hasnt helped the cause. BUT. everyone knows that there is meant to be no communitcation with UEFA bans, the referee does not have the necessary power in the organisation to overturn parts of that ban and as such it was insane to go on any of the match officials say so.

Basically wenger should have known better, yes it is crappy to be banned for 2 games and fined. But there had to be at least 1 match ban reapplied as he didnt serve it properly. It would be like a player being sent off, but still running around the pitch just not touching the ball :p

This sounds to me like the Ref though it was a touch line ban like most FA's have and if Wenger though the same then the blame lies with UEFA as the Ref did not know the rules. But Wenger should know the rules so you can argue even if the Ref told him its OK he should of known better. Like a Police man telling you looting is legal.

It is a pathetic rule and Wenger should just sit at home for the next game or Sky Sports will put a camera on him and count the number of times he blinks before each substitution. In the two minutes before the substitution Wenger blinked 7 times. It was the 63rd minute so if we divide that by the average age of the players on the bench then we can clearly see he wanted Theo to switch to the left!

Everyone team in the top 6 of last seasons Prem Table has got a lot stronger apart from Arsenal and Spurs now, Arsenal have gone backwards and Spurs are on the verge of going backwards.

Going to be interesting :p

They have went backwards, yet were still more than a match for liverpool despite their millions spent. Carroll up front on his own is a total waste of his talent, especially until Downing scores from uotside the box, as he appears to care more about that than actually crossing it :p

Spurs won't be going backwards if they sign Diarra and Adebayor. They could cope with losing Modric then, although they wouldn't be going forwards either.

It's that old champs league money problem, once you have it, you need to keep it or you can't get the players you need.

As I said a while back, our players need to gel now. I'm pretty sure that Suarez will be playing up top with Carroll regularly soon, he didn't start the other day due to being tired I think..

Not to mention that game was at the Emirates and they are still yet to lose Nasri..

It was because he was unfit Keitz, I don't doubt he will the 1st name on the team sheet once he is recovered from the Copa America.

Not read the link yet.. but AON are the sponsors for another 2 seasons are they not? or are they pulling out the apparent 4 year deal?

Training kit sponsorship only, and only in domestic games, Aon are shirt sponsor still.

Madness

United are a well-oiled machine when it comes to this kind of thing; I sat down with them last year to discuss a potential sponsorship thing here in Ireland; they wanted a serious bit of wedge for really not that much and it was too rich for our blood (we did something with the GAA instead in the end), but telcos around the world are biting their hand off, and good luck to them frankly. Still, I got a very nice dinner out of it :)
