He's still better than song, diaby and rosicky though.

Ah comparing him to Arsenal players, I can't disagree :p but I consider those 3 to be squad players, with the exepction of Song, who generally plays holding.

With Nasri on his way I expect Wilshere and Ramsay to be the centre pairing, fitness permitting :p

Something of note. Traveling across I've been surprised how popular footy is across the states, think the structure of the mls and the some of the franchises hinder the development over here. For example New York Red Bulls are based in New Jersey miles away from any subway, the lack of any 'strong rivalries' doesn't help also. Tis no surprise that the biggest attendance come from the NW trio of Seattle, Portland and Vancouver.

Think a meaningful continental competition would help, e.g. Mexican teams entering the Copa Libertadores. Would be interesting as the US could be a massive player in the game if they had the right structure.

Those 3 cities also have a ridiculous hispanic population mate which is what has created those intense rivalries. But you are right the setup here is hindering the development of the game. The Yanks love their draft/playoff system :/

Oh yeh I know the mass of Hispanics make the numbers mass. Being around for the Copa America was mint, bars rammed, didn't expect it hah. Yeh its a shame as a true system would be a massive improvement. I'd expect if Boston got a team that would make a huge rivalry for New York to go off. Or St. Louis and Chicago.

Getting Canada involved was a masterstroke also. Hispanic population is only going to increase aswell. After seeing Ciudad Juarez I can see why there are so many mexicans hah.

Well Boston kindof have a team in the New England Revolution. You'd think they would need a team in the city but it doesn't stop them being Pats fans up there even though Gillette stadium is about an hour to 2 hours outside Boston. Where are you stateside now anyways?

True but then NY Red Bulls are hardly aimed at new york, hopefully having the Cosmos based in Manhattan will sort this however. A true rivalry similarly to the Yankees/Red Sox would benefit lol.

At San Francisco ATM, bored to shot though, it's an interesting place, bit fucking freezing.

Todays the day, shitting myself already. I both love and hate these occasions.

Really wish I was in the North East for it too, the banter is fantastic. Off for a hair cut then a pint to settle my nerves, FTM

Nasri is an arsenal player, arsenal got many midfield injuries. Why should Nasri not play? Especially as no deal has been agreed yet, cant leave him out forever if no money is forthcoming.... probably wont help Nasri that he being quoted as saying he only wanted to go to "Barcelona, Madrid or Man Utd - but as spain sides not want him, and arsenal wont deal with utd he had no choice but city"... lol.

Suarez.... dont understand. Easily Liverpools best player by a country mile. All I can assume is he wants a more defensive player to help stem any arsenal forward momentium.

so that's 2 red cards Sunderland should have had this season already......

nice to see the standard of refereeing is still crap.

I'd say its more to do with Suarez not really having a break in the summer, was shocked he started against us last week and as the game went on his legs went a bit. I think he will have an impact on the game, probably play the last 30 mins.

Haha Raylor could have walked for the elbow on Gyan and Cabaye could have walked for the studs first lunge on Bardsley. Ref missed em all so no point debating it. Decent first half though I can't help but think we should be atleast 1-0 up.

I would have started with him and took him off, rather get the lead then be reliant on a sub saving the team.
And that is Frimpong getting sent off today I think, lol. Early yellow card for an aggressive player aint good.

edit:
ref is favouring liverpool in his decision so far. . by a country mile . going to be interesting this i think.
And another Arsenal injury now it seems, not good start of season for them.

Err, I don't think Seattle, Portland and Vancouver are very Hispanic - I was under the impression the rivalry was down to the fact the teams are all old NASL teams, so there's a long running rivalry

well clearly you just shown you do not know what talking about considering you think someone got booked for being offside!!! Says alot really.

Through much of the first 30minutes it was decisions going to Liverpool, or did you not see Walcott getting clearly scythed down and the ref not even giving a freekick, but giving Liverpool decisions for very little

I see lots of players who are offside kick the ball away, they hardly ever get booked.

Depends on the circumstances. If they think the player didnt realise then they wouldnt book them, or if it was just after the whistle, or if they kicking it to the opposition player.

Carroll was blown offside, he sees and hears it, does the silly "ffs" hop run, gets to the ball and then just blasts it into the net. He made it obvious he knew he was offside due to his actions, but he opted to play on anyway which will always be a clear booking.

And cant complain about that, he showed discretion and didnt book Downing I believe it was for semi throwing the ball away.

The yellow card gets covered by various reasons depending on the ref. Time wasting is one option, the other is dissent due to ignoring the ref and playing on.
