Yawn, Arsenal's main passing options are sideways or backwards. It's like they've take Carrick and bred him with any Liverpool midfielder of the last 20 years.

Arsenal should be happy it is only 2-0 so far. Can still get back into the leg, but varemelen and djorou will probably be a milan goal waiting to happen by the looks of it :p

You are coming across a bit bitter here Ch3t. Everyone reporting on the game has said the pitch is shit don't blame Arsenal.

I dont think it is bad enough to be an excuse we have just been shit, it's lucky its a game of 2 legs.

Bitter? Jesus it was a joke, Wenger got his excuse in early and ITV are twats. The pitch certainly looks bad, but it hasn't stopped some lovely football from Milan.

Wengers post match interview will be pretty cringeworthy.

I figure injuries/offside and the pitch will all feature.

Stunning, just stunning. a reminder of the player Man shitty paid such a fortune for. That 5-1 is looking quite likely.

edit:/ Brilliant work from Ibra, proving he doesn't have to score in the big games to have an impact. He's the player Carrol should aim to be like.

You mean you think he will mention the things that had an impact on the game? :) And the pitch has had an impact with TV's slip.

Pretty sure that van Persie will be gone after this season.
If that is the case tonight will not be the difference maker, what were people expecting we only just beat Sunderland ffs we are not a team in form despite battering a shocking Blackburn side.

Dutch sportscommentator just said it (watching this game aswell). van Persie aint getting any younger, l8tly Arsenal hasnt won anything, (the good) players are beeing bought from Arsenal while they cannot replace it with equally good players. He has 1 more year before his contract wears out. Surely he wont walk away for free? :D

Staying with Arsenal really isnt an option, unless someone over there finds a pot of gold.

Winning things will not make the difference at his age if he wants to play anywhere else he has to move this summer so it comes down to if he wants to end his career at Arsenal or if he wants a change of scenery. What we have going for us is he is a loyal guy and he has said his family are settled and happy in London. But who knows.

I thought you'd up your game for the Champs League and Henry's last game, I also thought you'd be more at home playing against a less physical team... but then I'm ignoring what Swansea did to you.

And now a penalty... You need Kosielny playing this half, not Djurou.

I am not sure being up for it matters they are a better team and they are bang on it today.

I am done shaking my head over our defence too much of our cover is a liability.

Carroll does not have 1/10th of Zlatans skills tho, that is the problem. Zlatan was probably quite angry at those two last chances :p

A bit but I bet he wont mention lack of ambition going forward or how the defence took the night off - he likes to wrap his players in mental cotton wool.

The two injuries were also pitch related, at least they looked to be. It was an absolute state.

Milan = very good, much improved on previous years.
Arsenal = shite, TV5 especially bad. Gibbs and Koscielny did well though.

The Ox was good when he came on I though but he could not do it on his own. This comes back to Central Midfielders who can not boss a game a save their lives. I am actually hoping for Diaby to come back for his 5 game run to give us something in the middle of the park.

Wenger said:
on the result...
It was of those nights you never forget. It is our worst night in Europe, we were punished and deservedly so. We were very poor offensively and defensively. We were beaten everywhere. There was not one moment in the 90 minutes we were really in the game. What made it worse is that we had to chase the game. It was always the same problem, balls over the top and we were well beaten.

It is difficult to analyse. I think it is better not to talk too much. We need to analyse with a cooler header and regroup for the next game.

on the reasons for the defeat...
You could blame and blame. We have to stick together and win the next game. The players were very ambitious in this Champions League. They are the first to be very sad. We felt powerless today to get really into the game.
I cannot say I got everything perfect when we lost 4-0 but I don't believe we made big tactical mistakes. We did not have any other choices. I felt we were weak in some departments. I felt we could have some problems in some departments but I did not think we would not score.

I would say that is fairly honest, he rightly does not throw any players under the bus but admits we were well beaten.
