Nothing Taarabt does surprises me this season any more, I do wonder what Routledge will do if he signs permanently for QPR and they get promoted. He doesn't seem to be able to cut it in the premier league.

BBC Sport - Leyton Orient fear extinction over Olympic Stadium

another twist, I'd love it if Orient took the league to task over this if either spuds or west ham got the ground...

I was expecting this; Orient's ground is really close to the Olympic stadium but is harder to get to (being the other side of the A12 from Stratford and the Olympic Park). The whining was bound to start sometime. Bottom line is, tough. What are you supposed to do, set a geographical restriction around every ground? Besides Fulham managed to survive in the lower leagues when they were less than 2 miles from Stamford Bridge (although I admit they didn't have to worry about discounted tickets).

Personally I think Spurs will get it; West Ham will suffer because of their owners' backgrounds (nice guy though David Gold is, the other one creeps me out), whereas AEG are exactly the profile the Tories like.

Tough maybe, but if another club moves into the stadium, then the league are breaching their own rules.

No Frank for the mighty blues tonight, I guess that leaves an uninspiring midfield trio of Ramires Essien Mikel

Problem with rules like that is that they don't really stand up in law. Tottenham or West Ham can simply argue restraint of trade.

Kenny began todays press conference by asking Sky's reporter if it was ok with a female journo being in the room :worthy:

Be a massive shame for Blackpool if he jumps ship with a week left of the window - can't see Holloway letting him leave unless they do get a good offer in though.

Jimmy 'The Greek' Snyder

A Las Vegas bookie with an NFL punditry slot on CBS, Snyder broke bread with a TV reporter in a Washington restaurant in 1988, and came unstuck with comments about black athletes: "The black is a better athlete to begin with because he's been bred to be that way. This goes back all the way to the Civil War when the slave owner would breed his big black to his big woman so that he could have a big black kid."
Sacked
Ron Franklin

The veteran ESPN commentator addressed touchline reporter Jeannine Edwards as "sweet baby" in a production meeting on New Years Eve 2010, then responded to her objection by calling her an "asshole".
Sacked
Chris Price

In 2008, the freelance BBC Radio Manchester reporter described Bradford City's defence as "having more holes than a Spanish aircraft". A week earlier, a Spanair jet had crashed, killing 153.
Not invited back
Alan Pardew

Watching footage of Michael Essien tackling Ched Evans while on the Match of the Day 2 sofa in 2009, the then-Southampton manager opined that the Chelsea midfielder had "absolutely raped" his opponent.
Not invited back
Ron Atkinson

The ITV commentator and Guardian columnist accused Marcel Desailly of being a "fucking lazy thick ******" when supposedly off-mic during Chelsea's 2004 Champions League semi-final defeat in Monaco.
Sacked and loses newspaper column
Rodney Marsh

On a January 2005 edition of You're On Sky Sports, Marsh claimed David Beckham had turned down a move to Newcastle after hearing about trouble with "the Toon Army in Asia". The previous month, over 200,000 people had died after an earthquake and tsunami in the Indian Ocean.
Sacked
Richard Keys

In 2007, introducing highlights of the Faroe Islands v Scotland Euro 2008 qualifier, the Sky anchor finished his link, then added the following open-mic flourish: "Daft little ground, silly game, fuck off."

Good fucking riddance :p

Promote that sexy red head from Football first to host the build up and half/full time, and I don't care who takes Grays spot, aslong as they can use Skys super secret touch screen technology ;)

Let's see more of jamie redknapp as well, he's young handsome and by giving him the job he might stop brown nosing Chelsea, Lollerpool and Spuds!

Are the Ron Atkinson and Pardew quotes the wrong way round? It was definitely Pardew who made the Essien comment :D
