I have no problem with Sunderland but I do find the idea they are bigger than Villa to be very odd, no, absurd.

They've certainly not won the European Cup. Sunderland qualified for a European competition once in 1973/74 when they reached the second round of the Cup Winners Cup, we've qualified for European competitions innumerable times including three times in the last three seasons.

They last won the league in 1935/36, compared to 80/81 for Villa.

They've never won the League Cup, Villa have won it five times.

Villa are an ever present in the Premier League.

Villa Park is one of the oldest grounds in the football league having been in use since 1897 and has been used for World Cup group games and the final of European competitions.

We're having a bad season and, yes, we have a crap manager. That's unfortunate but it doesn't mean they're bigger than us in any way, shape or form. I'm 99.9% sure you're on a wind up but I quite enjoyed typing that out.

Oh and did I mention the concept of the football league came from a Villa Director? And that we were one of the founding members? Or that we have had more players capped by England than any other club? Read it and weep

Ohhhh so many arguments so little time, I read through your wall of shite Turamber from work and couldnt respond. Yes well done your club has won things in the past, mine has also won things in the past. In fact Villa have won one more league title than Sunderland!

Fans living off their clubs past performances is something that just wont go away, probably why Villa fans are so pissy at the moment is they are clinging onto a thread of hope that their season can be turned from absolute disaster to fairly safe mid table obscurity. Sunderland on the other hand are pushing for a European place, playing some decent football and look to be a club on the up, well ran from top too bottom under the guidance of Nial Quinn and Ellis Short. Historically Villa may well be a bigger club but right now in this league they sit 4th from bottom with the same points total as Wigan and a highly respectable -15 goal difference. So your history means fuck all.
