For the point it's trying to make it's a pretty awful and inaccurate picture, yep.

What did I dodge before?

Ok. So, in that picture, did all those players and that manager approach the referee and remonstrate with him in an aggressive manner. Yes or no?

Gohan, you are missing the point. The refs are so inconsistent, some players continually get off scott-free for doing the same or worse than Rafael (Rooney is one of the biggest offenders as well!) and others get hammered. They keep going on about the Respect campaign but how can you respect people who do not apply the rules exactly the same way at different incidents in the same game even. The rules need to be simple and they are, if you approach the referee waving your arms and coming across as an agressive arsehole then you have to walk. Captain or not.

That is my point.

He got the misconduct charge for doing it after being sent off, which you aren't allowed to do. Had he shouted at him during the game, which incidentally he did and does every game, there is generally no problem. Also captains are allowed to talk to the referee, it's the rest who aren't suppose to.

If any of those other players did actually break the rules like Rafael, then they should be charged too. Using that shit picture to try and protest his innocence is bullshit.

Let me add that if enforcing the rules means Rooney getting sent off more then so be it, someone has to teach the thick fucker you can't bully people into agreeing with you.

i agree you don't see it in rugby, if you even speak to the ref and you're not the captain you're gone

and if the captain argues or gets agressive he's gone

simples

Where did I say he was innocent? Not once. Did he go overboard? Yes he did but he was sent off after a very shakey yellow and lost his rag, stupidly and wrongly yes but he has not been the only one and yet he is the only one getting a misconduct charge.

Exactly as it should be, you get aggro with the ref you have to go, it is the only way the officials are ever going to be respected.

Sums it up for me...

Steven Gerrard performed a scissor tackle from behind on James McCarthy at Wigan last season. He was rightly booked and then stuck his fingers up at referee Andre Marriner and told him to “fuck off”. He was hilariously labelled “Stevie V” by The Sun the following day but no FA charge followed.

John Terry once famously tried to take a red card out of a referee’s hand after team mate John Obi Mikel sent off and repeatedly gets in the referee’s face. Is he ever charged? No.

If those are not misconduct then what is?

why should the official show some mouthy little foreign kid any respect after he's been waving imaginary cards at him all game? That's a bookable offence in itself anyway. Also you still seem to not notice THE RULES - you have to leave the pitch after getting a red card.

Then book him and follow the rules. Do you not see the problem? Until they enforce the rules ALL the time for ALL the teams for EVERY offence this shit is going to keep eating away at our beloved game like a fucking cancer.

That isn't really misconduct because hundreds of players do it every weekend, doing it after being sent off is what makes the difference.

Really? Name one, just once. I have not seen anyone give a ref the V and tell him to fuck off apart from Gerrard, when was the last time you saw anyone try take the card out of the refs hand and abuse him? It was Terry, the first time I have seen it in probably a decade.

You've never seen a player have a go at the referee after getting booked? ok....

I really can't be fucked arguing about one decision 5 years ago and comparing it with one decision this weekend while ignoring what happens on a weekly basis.

Dodge.

You specifically commented on the two occasions I pointed out. No one has done what Gerrard done, I doubt many others than top England players would have gotten away with it either. You see Rooney, Terry and Gerrard walk around like they are above the law, why? Well because most weeks they can get away with far more than most.

The rules are there, they are just being applied at a whim by weak referees.

the thing is tho, you can't send stevie G off then ask him to give you his signed shirt for your son, these things need to be taken into account

Refs should not be allowed to take anything off players, even autographs, it reeks of fanboism and favouritism. ;)

I put it down to karma with Neville staying on at the Hawthorns the other week, then thought no more about it.

True story :D
