He seems to be another striker that Liverpool have broken, players that went there top of their game only to be shit a couple of years later.

Nah. Its the same Torres from Atletico's day.

One of the most overrated players in the last decade.

See his Eurocup / Worldcup.

The good Liverpool days were just but an illusion.

Midtable team player or poormans striker for a champions league debutant team 'ala Schalke 04.

The problem with Torres is he never recovers from an injury before getting another one, all players who pick up injuries tend to take some time to get back to form which is a problem if you roll from one injury to another.

There are a few in there I wouldn't bother with based on current form but since when was the England team picked on form?

The glaringly obvious one is Shaun Wright Phillips, he has had more than enough chances and never really delivered beyond the odd decent game. He should be perma dropped.

Kevin Davies is a brilliant shout. I was saying to megadave just the other day he should get a call up. He's like a good version of Heskey. He doesn't score loads of goals but gets 10 or so a season, and he works so hard up top to put others in, and does it a lot better than Emfail Heskey does.

He works damn hard, definately, he might offer something different and that is never a bad thing. Certainly worth a try.

So where does that leave Carrol? Dropped from the under 21's on the assumption he would be chosen for the senior squad.

Kevin Davies is a good pick. He's not as effective as Heskey but he is capable of some very deft touches around the box, another forward's forward.

I'm curious. This church you belong to, does it make you use mind bending drugs on a regular basis?

Kevin Davies is leagues ahead of Heskey and I am not even sure if Davies deserves an England spot, though with our current options up front its worth a try I suppose.

Emile Heskey though...lol

Ferdinand shouldn't be playing, he isn't 100% fit and not shown any real class in months, Joe Cole is another that isn't ready. Shaun Wright Philips is just plain shit. Glen Johnson is also off his game.

Heskey is an excellent, highly effective player. Who made England's first goal in the World Cup? How many World Cup finals has Rooney scored in? In any event we don't have many decent forwards and of those we have a number of them are injured or out of form. Kevin Davies deserves his call up, but it is revealing that Capello asked Heskey to come out of retirement first.

Capello hasnt got a clue. Terry and Ferdinand will be back in despite Jagielka's quality form, the ignoring of players such as Carroll for a callup over aging players such as Davies highlights this. Joe Cole and SWP also.

FIFA bottle it with agents and scrap the licensing system.

BBC Sport - Football - Fifa to 'axe licensed agent rule'

[Hardly, they are changing the system to try and regulate it better. From the article:

"A possible new approach could be to regulate the conduct of clubs and players, and extend the scope of the regulations to include all kinds of intermediaries," said Fifa in a statement.
"In other words, the regulations would stop attempting to regulate access to the activity, and instead control the activity itself.
"This would mean that players and clubs could choose any parties as intermediaries, be they legal entities, lawyers, relatives or spouses, but would have to meet certain criteria and respect certain principles.

Interesting International weekend coming up. Sweden - Holland (without De Jong! :p). I like watching Sweden since our new coach came in, always a lot more fun watching a team try to attack than a team that plays with a tactic of not conceding.

Since PL is so boring this season the Internationals are teh way to go! =)

What are you chatting about, the prem has been great this year, unfortunately most of it has been at Liverpool' expense! ;) :D
