Been a bit more of a play maker compared to last years run of scoring so will be nice if he has gone back to last years performance a bit more.

It's not the point, it's lollerpools fans expectations being ridiculous as usual. It's a club in turmoil, not helped by off the pitch matters at all.

Hodgsons proved he's a fantastic manager all over the world, it does not make him shit managing a poisoned chalice.

i 100% agree, but even through all that i don't understand why players earning millions per year are lacking in enough mental strength to do what they're paid for and forget about off the pitch matters that don't necessarily have any real effect on what they do. on paper, liverpool still have a squad that is good enough for a top 7-10 finish, but they're playing like relegation no-hopers right now.

i share your empathy for hodgson, he seems a top bloke and he's definitely a top manager. he doesn't deserve the horrow show that is liverpool dragging him down.

Just got back from Anfield, a mate of mine who's a Blackpool season ticket holder had a spare ticket - fantastic result for Blackpool, they thoroughly played Liverpool off the park. Charlie Adam and David Vaughan dominated the midfield, Poulsen seemed completely anonymous and Gerrard seemed to be playing far too far back to be effective.

When Jovanovic came on Liverpool seemed much better going forward, Gilks made a fantastic save right at the death but other than that he didn't really have much to do, Reina was by far the busier keeper
