don't get me wrong i think the premiership is the strongest leauge and recent champions leauges prove that having 3/4 semi finalists like 4 out of the last 6 years or some shit


but la liga is in no way weak

Gohan, have you watched spanish football recently? It's more unbalanced than the SPL.

In the premiership you have a top 4, you have teams in the last few years that are in and around that group and you have strong teams throughout the league. the Spanish leagues are fucked, finances in the lower leagues are worst than ours, teams outside of Madrid and Barca are living in debt and can not hope to challenge them. The teams you mention are okay in Europe, but they have no hope of advancing in their league.

Everytime a new Football Manager game comes out I always take over at Levante, rape Real Madrid and Barcelona twice a season before winning the league title for a few years in a row. I think Football Manager is the only way anyone outside the big two can win La Liga these days sadly.

The only time the other teams get a look in is when barca or Real are going through a transitional stage.

That said, I find the standard of football in la liga to much better than that of the prem. I could quite happily watch Athletico v Racing and be entertained, but blackburn v bolton is a complete turn off. As for Barca v Real, no other game comes close. Before you die, you should all sample the Barca v Real game live. The atmosphere is absolutely out of this world. I dont know what it is about english football but the atmosphere at big games is always somewhat mute. Old trafford is quite simply, the most boring atmosphere ever and ive watched them live in all the big games.

Been poor at almost every game bar Liverpool or City games and of course CL semi's for over a decade. They enforce the standing ban like they are the 3rd Reich and way too many corporate season tickets now because of the inflated prices.
