Is this FA charge not just like Wenger's a few years ago? Where he got a ban for a nothing comment but it was the 14th nothing comment he had made all year? Kind of like the midfielder who gets a yellow for his 20th foul of the day. While the charge does look bs you have to admit Fergie has gone after the refs a lot lately and maybe should know better by now.

No, he has said nothing bad about the referee at all, nothing. He complimented the ref, just as Ancelloti did. This is that blue cnut Bernstein at the FA, ever since he got power they have been throwing charges at United left right and centre. Can't wait to see what happens when the powers that be decide how to punish Fergie for not talking to the BBC, time to go to court then imo, infringement of human rights.

Fair play. I assumed he had made a backhanded compliment like the old "I love your hair that way, it hides your freak like ears"

he knew what he was doing :p

What? Saying he was pleased we got a strong referee, the best in the country? How can that be undermining the ref? Also Ancelloti said pretty much the same, surely he is guilty of whatever fucked up logic the FA are using as well?

"But [getting a bad decision] is definitely our big fear.
"We have the players to do it all right. We just hope it's our turn for a little bit of luck."

That's the sort of line managers often use to put the ref in the spotlight and add a bit of pressure.

Bollocks. He was was expressing a fear that all managers have going into vital games, you are just reading it the way you want because you would like to see him punished. Fergie more than clarified himself, said Webb was a top quality referee, the best in the land and strong enough for a game of this magnitude. Anything else is just being implied by people with an axe to grind.

There is no grey area, you cannot charge someone based on what you THINK they meant. You have to base charges on what they actually said.

Lol, poor Everz. He seems to get nothing but abuse at the moment. Be it that he being accused of being ABU, or wether it is for his drinking habbits.

Only thing he got going for him is he aint a Chelski supporter. lol.
Wolves need to stay up. Tbh I think I would like both Wolves and Blackpool to stay in the league but that wont happen.

The rule is clear; do not talk about the referee of your match before the match. Fergie ignored this, and is being charged and rightly so.

The problem is Ancelloti said something very similar and is not being charged, so the FA are doing a good troll job here.

The rule is not clear, that is the problem because the FA can then interpret it any way to choose and apply it as such. Does it say you are not allow to mention the ref by name or praise him as a fine referee? No not if everything I have heard on seen on TV/Radio is anything to go by. Most of the media are ridiculing the whole thing now because he blatently hasn't criticised the referee or tried to undermine him which is why this shakey rule was brought in to start with.

The LMA need to get thier fingers out of thier arses on this one, the rules need to apply to all managers and yet they clearly don't, the FA prosecute with total discrimination.

Usual mid games from Fergie of which he's very good. Nothing new there. A little warning letting him know not to push it is no bad thing.

I've not read/heard what Ancelotti said so I've no idea if he should be slapped too.

That is not mind games, he expresed a fear but he implied no criticism of the referee and infact said that the correct referee was picked for a game of that magnitude. You will only read negatives from that if you are looking for negatives from it to begin with, thankgod alot of the media are getting onboard and saying this is a dubious charge as well. If Fergie is charged for talking about a ref before the game then Carlo must be too.

Yeah to me that seems like fergie putting pressure on Webb not to give a big decision against his team in a backhand way and I'm a United fan

Nope I am sorry but the glasses are on you this time, we already had the upperhand on Chelsea anyway after beating them twice in a couple of weeks, the only rule Fergie may have broken is the nonsense about mentioning the ref before a game but that happens up and down the country every week, your manager is every bit as guilt I am sure. Carlo certainly was, where is his charge? Oh wait...

This is the only part that matters. Even if they were mind game how can the FA charge one Manager but not the other for talking about the ref when the other manager mumbled the same comments really does seem like a witch hunt. But like i said if that's the case its got nothing to do with Man U its because of Fergies previous ref comments. But it makes the FA look stupid.

People need to watch the press conference, not go by what they've read. Fergie was asked a question and answered it fairly... watch it and then spout your bullshit.

Looks like Wenger is abit pissed off at the merse, he said "If you find one player who I asked to take an injection to play one game, no matter how big the game was, I would resign tomorrow morning." It's a bold statement an i can't imagine he would throw it out there idly. I just wonder why Merson would make any of it up.

I would take him at £12 million or less, good player and worth a risk at that price but no more. Personally I want Sneijder though, he has done it at a higher level and more consistently.
