Man utd fans moaning about the ref? Couldn't make it up :p

I've no complaints about the end result, still lament our awful first leg performance a bit though. Maintaining our record of not losing with 11 players in the CL though :p

Why would man utd fans not complain about refs? No one complaining about the refs in these 2 euro games apart from Chelsea fans :p

But come on, in recent games against Chelsea you seem to get dodgy decisions that led to goals on numerous occasions. But that is life!

lol potless for the season after all those claims earlier in the year. ;) Keep going, you could be the new Arsenal! :D

On a more serious note, Chelsea look like they need a clearout. Who do you lot think will be going?

David Blaines record of doing nothing a box has now been broken by Fernando Torres! :D Hard to believe he has had almost £2.5 million in wages already, roflcopter.

Tierk must feel like a right dick now after what he said earlier but then I guess he must feel like a right dick most days being a Scouse fan. :D ;) :p

Quite amazing that no London club has ever won the European Cup. Here's to that proud record continuining in 2011/2012 :D

FWIW I was supporting Chelsea in the bar last night along with the majority of the Turks. However the place emptied at half-time, nobody thought they could score three goals and win the tie.

If Chelsea had shown the same level of application and desire in the first leg it could have been a very different story.

Puck JoOooOoo? :sex:

Seriously though, that was one of the most one sided matches i ahve seen between these two sides in a long time. Ryann Giggs was immense as was Rooney, his attempt late in the 2nd half to chip the keeper from the half way line, shows just how confident he is feeling currently.

I am curious to know what Chelsea will do in the summer, as it is clear that this squad of players have passed their sell by date. Regardless of who is the Manager at the beginning of next season, it will be a massive task to rebuild.

It will be interesting to see how they going to manage spending big in the summer, with all the financial fair play rules incoming.

As for Torres, he will shine, just needs time and players that know how to service him. If you watched the game, it was clear none of his team mates have a clue how to play to his strengths.

Aww poor bitter Deebs :p

Didnt really have luck in that game. Terry could of been sent off after Ramires remember! (admittingly booking he got was weak).
Sending of was always gonna happen, you dont go into the back of someone if you on a yellow. Never ever ever, you make sure you got no chance of doing it. No luck involved there.

Man Utd 1st goal, no luck. Good play. 2nd goal? no luck. Chelsea simply forgot to defend after they scored (well taken by Drogba, mistake benching him).

Only luck involved was that Chelsea did not get a penalty at end of the first game, and Chelsea cant talk about luck against Utd. Referee's been giving you a hand at the Bridge for years!

Not bitter at all :) When I was talking about luck I meant in that Chelsea had no luck and several "near" misses, the moment you get to see those happening over and over you just think, "no matter what this is not going to bode well for us".

As I said earlier ManU deserved to win, they had the desire and wanted to win, much like LollerPool against Man City on Monday night. Chelsea looked like a lethargic team.

It will be an interesting final..... I suspect ManU vs Barca.

I thought he just looked out of his depth, bad movement off the ball, bad movement with the ball, running into defenders, crap passes. I have no idea what is up with him, nobody can deny he used to be awesome. I think it's just the Liverpool curse, so many strikers have gone there on top of their game and left as utter shite.

.

Clearly villa haven't been in Europe for so long you've forgotten the rules, and so have the Turks clearly. Chelski only needed two goals to win until parks goal.

This will only improve with time spent playing with the team. Consider that most of the Chelsea team have been playing a certain way and with certain players for a very long time.

They are all pretty old and as the saying goes "You can't teach an old dog new tricks"

He looks more out of his depth with every game. It seems he's not the same player without Gerrard. Unless chelski change their entire system, and most of their players, they aren't going to be able to service Torres. A good footballer should be able to adapt, Torres clearly can't. One trick pony - pretty amazing at that trick, but utter waste otherwise.

The difference between Ferguson and Ambramovich (the real Chelsea manager)? Ferguson is always thinking a couple of years ahead. He pointed out Chelsea's problems two years ago and they've done basically nothing to address them. On the other hand, United have been immensely lucky that Giggs in particular is having the best Indian Summer in English football history; I still think United need new blood in midfield over the summer.

NB. I'm going to put a bet on Real to get to the final; just a feeling (I'll probably look really foolish in a couple of weeks).

Well United were better than us over the two legs. The formation and team selection is all over the shop and really that is down to Ancelotti farting around too much.

/edit

I would say one thing though, Drogba's goal was easily the best of the goal of the tie. Beautiful first touch, the neat spin and then tucks it under VDS.

Drogba will be moved on for sure, they will push Sturridge and Torres for starting positions next year I suspect. Defensively they are not the worst off in the league, luiz coming in has given them a lot of options at the back.

Midfield is the isue for me, they have no creativity there at all, no one to play the slide rule pass to perfection. The young lad Macregan sp? is meant to be very talented, it wuoldn't do any harm to start giving him more of a run out.

Ancelloti has to be kept, ther is no one else out there.

Slightly off topic from Chelsea, I was listening to talksport on the way hhome last night and heard an Arsenal fan calling for Wenger to be replaced with Capello. HAHAHAAHAH fans are so fucking delusional sometimes.

I actually thought Van der Sar was very poor for the goal.

Nah i'm with you on that Gaffer, if anyone can navigate a two legged victory over them it's Mourinho. They play each other 4 times in the next 3-4 weeks and I reckon he'l come out on top in the Champions league.

Gotta hope that United can see off Shalke or Inter and set up a dream final against Cristiano!!

Torres has been playing without a proper rest /summer break since what 2007? Along the way he has suffered with a lot of injuries as well.

Your comment about Gerrard is half right but i think you also missed the other half, Alonso, a far better passer of the ball than Gerrard (imo).

He has not managed to build up a good understanding yet with any of the current crop of players and (imo) he will struggle to do so with the squad as it is, they are all too used to playing a certain way.

Again we seem to be in agreement to what the problem is but just seem to differ on assessment of the actual player. You think he is a one trick pony - so basically shit - i on the other hand do not.

To quote Ryann Giggs when he was talking about Rooney back in Sept'10 when he hit the wall so to speak "form is temporary, class is permanent."

No I didn't say he was shit, I said he's a one trick pony, who is very good at that one trick. Great players, truly great players adapt and can play in many systems. Torres isn't one of those. He's a very one dimensional striker, lots of guile, but no ability to adapt. You talked about old dogs and new tricks, it seems he's a young dog with old tricks.

As for you you little stirrer!! :twak:

The last comments i can find that i made about Rooney in this footie thread ..

 You paid 26 million for a 18 year sperm stain that had scored 17 goals in almost 70 appearances for Everton. No CL and barely starting his England career (2 months?).

ManU took a gamble and it paid off.

and

Personally i dont see a problem with youth development in England. maybe needs a bit of refining but a system that has given us players like Owen, Rooney, Ferdinand, Beckham, Gerrard - i could go on and on. We have plenty of talent coming through, its the managers that are failing to utilise the players correctly....

If you mean this quote….

He is shit :p

Note the :p at the end :fluffle:

Chelsea just seem all wrong at the moment, proved even more by actually looking more likely to score with one less player.
