We were lucky with that penalty call but looking at the game overall I think we just (just mind) got the result that was deserved. IMO ofcourse.

Definately a penalty, followed by a 2nd LOL dive by Torres.

All in all I think we deserved the bit of luck at Stamford Bridge. Well overdue and not just for the last game, try the many games over the years :D

Carrick was surprisingly decent, and it seems utd have a new tactic off "how many wingers can play at a time". Valencia done a decent job back there though so well done on the decision. hah.

was 200% a penalty, how fucking stupid is that 4th refereen if he can't see that, what use does he actually have?

To stand there and pretend that they doing something... main duty seems to be on the "ball across the line" events, but they should flag for more but dont

Hopes in our continued survival in the Premier League are being rested, not upon our manager, not upon Glenn Roeder the new scout (!) but upon the resurrection of an old Villa song from the 60's and 70's.

Having heard this I am certain we're going down, and ripping out our ears at the same time.

YouTube - The Bells are Ringing, Do You Believe & When You're Smiling by Villa Fans

I remember plenty of songs that were more tuneful and entertaining than this embarrasment, no wonder we stopped singing it over 25 years ago.

It's more common than ever before that we are constantly talking about bad decisions from the referee and assitants.

WHile Chelseas penalty was a blatant one last night, they have very shor memories from 3odd days ago when Luiz should have been gone and they themselves were given a very soft penalty against Utd.

Teams all over the premier league has been hard done by decisions.

Maybe if Torres was any good at the moment the result would have been better, the fact is that Chelsea had one striker who didn't seem to know what he was doing and one striker too busy whinging to just get on with it.

will Ancelloti get a match ban or be reprimanded by FA?

isnt one of the rules "thou shalt not question the ref's integrity even if he does screw up"

does questioning his "courage" count as questioning his integrity? :p

Aye, in my opinion it is. Tbh it no different to what Fergi said that got him this 5 match ban, yes fergi said "fair" but he instantly stated that came out wrong and he meant "strong".

Strong = courage = ban ... but as it not the FA there probably be nothing happening in regards to this comment.

Fergie said "You want a fair referee, or a strong referee anyway – and we didn’t get that.”

“I must say, when I saw who the referee was I feared it. I feared the worst"

I think it was more the fact he implied he knew the ref would be bad before the game even started that got him the ban, and fact he refused to say sorry

I Thought the punishment was actually for implying that the ref wasnt impartial and showed favourtism to the opposition...

and cant blame him for fearing the worst. When I watch games, even ones that aint Man Utd, I often go "oh god, xxx is the ref! This going to be bad!". Cant blame managers feeling the same :)

hehe its true it would be up to UEFA rather than the FA i guess

not sure how it would work with champs league football

i was more throwing it out there to see if its just the loudmouthed/high profile managers that get spanked, i mean Ian Holloway has said loads of crazy shit but hasnt been banned (as far as i know, but perhaps its because they cant understand what hes blathering on about)

Nope agreed we all human its just silly way we all supposed to act. IMO what fergie did was just opinion and didnt deserve a fine but what Rooney did deserved a much larger ban. For fergie it was emotonal responce after a loss where he was directly asked questions leading to the answers. For rooney it was after something that was good? for him and he wasnt asked or forced into a corner to say anything, he freely of his own accord looked directly into the camera. The real question imo should be why do we still hang on to this silly relic of a social rule in regards to being so shocked at "swear" words.

Fair play to him though, he's better with the ball at his feet than 99.9% of North Americans.
