I think they'd be better of dropping Toure, and keeping Barry in. Barry was very good for them last season. Toure is an overrated joke, who is being paid a kings ransom.

Are we getting another Joe Hart highlight reel tonight, just switched the game on and already he's pulled off a fantastic double save from N'Gog and Torres.

Oh and following on from the Spurs madness last week I will not be getting laid from her again, dumpsville sucks hairy balls.

I feel sorry for our old coach, but have no spare feelings for the rest of Liverpool

I think if the club isn't sold before the transfer window and they aren't top 6 by the end of September the panic will set in. Hodgson will be under incredible pressure and the yanks will know that another season potentially without the revenue from CL football will devalue the club much further. RBS want paying a massive sum in October as part of the £237 million loan, I don't see how they can do it without selling top players unless they get a very wealthy buyer in during the next week. Even if they roll the loan over they are going to get far worse terms and the debt will be at risk of spiralling out of control.

They need a buyer by the end of the month really and someone willing to spend. If they loose Mascherano they are in serious trouble.

As for man-city, they looked very good last night, Milner seems to have slotted in perfectly. I was a bit disappointed to see Teves subbed, he is a fantastic player to see. One of the worst mistakes Ferguson made was to sell him, while I know the principle involved I really think they should have kept him and funded the purchase by selling lazy Berbatov.

No one will buy now in October the banks will take total control when the Yanks can't afford to pay the loan. And then you will buy the club for just what the banks are owed rather than paying the Yanks too.

United set the pattern for rich clubs that can buy whoever they want. Chelsea took it a step on and now City would appear to be the ultimate. Of course United fans would argue their wealth is generated from their footballing history, and the Busbee Babes etc, but the end result is the same.

A rich club that buys whoever it wants, whenever it wants - leaving the rest to hang onto their best players long enough to get somewhere and win something.

Were the Italians not the first to start with the spend big to win big in the 90's?

Correct.

This UTD hate is hilarious btw few other clubs have produced and developed so many good English internationals. Not a UTD fan or anything but to say they started the big money transfers is ludicrous.

well, they did. whether or not they have developed 'so many' good english internationals is irrelevant. you could also argue that the west ham academy, as well as some others, have produced just as many great english internationals as man utd - just man utd have the financial muscle to hold on to them whereas other clubs, such as the aforementioned west ham, have to sell them on.

For every player they've brought through they've stolen a Wayne Rooney or a Rio Ferdinand, how are other clubs meant to deal with that?

Ahah, so she finally sold it. Bet Clifford got her top dollar, to be fair she deserves the cash after the shit storm in the press this year.

edit:// just read it. So for all the fanfare it was nothing but press speculation. That doesn't reall fit with Bridge snubbing Terry and refusing to play wiht him for England.

Giggs, Scholes, Neville brothers, Beckham, Butt, Sharpe, Brown, O'Shea, Fletcher and Gibson. I rest my case. We don't JUST buy and we NEVER did. :)

I think Furguson is being a devious old goat atm while City and Chel$ki chase the big names he has been busy bringing in the 17 year old wonder kids. In 3 years time when he meets the Home grown quota with out needing a English player this policy will come good imo. Its the same as what Wenger did but on a higher level.

Its harder when you can't just sort by potential ability though :)

Its the perfect lie the only person who can come out and call her a liar wants it buried as well.
