Hush corran; tierk is a liverpool fan, therefore he only experiences a twisted warped reality which no one else can see.

Yep Torres was Liverpool to the core and Rafa was the best manager in the world but everyone was against him, FACT.

He has obviously been drinking too much Rafa-ade.

It is one of the reasons that they are interested in Man Utd. To beat them down in a different manner, and to ruin their ambitions. Quite funny tbh

Err no, they are interested in buying anything that is considered a Trophy Asset, hence the purchase of Harrods at a price that was considered over the top along with Chelsea barracks.

If i want your opinion i will give it to you :)

Not much of a come back now is it?

As for your comment about FIFA and the need for total change, why should it be?

Just because the people that lost out are whinging on and on?

I didnt hear anyone complaining of cheating and bribery when Germany won the bid, or Japan /Korea or France or even the USA for that matter.

Humm funny that isn't it?

P.S Lets hope the current owners of the club don't do a Gillette and Hicks on you though i have to say they are doing a wonderful job so far! Oh and yes i know SAF has a really good bank balance and the war chest is full of cash they shouldn't call it a war chest but rather a kiddies sandwich box :p

That may be so, but its not incompatible with sticking the knife into the Abu Dhabi Royal family at the same time. (Although given recent events, Sunni royal families everywhere may have bigger fish to fry).

Its simple, in all of those cases people ended up with a World Cup destination that actually made sense, not one of the hottest places on Earth in the summertime (that's also one of the least friendly to thirsty football fans). The thing about bribery and corruption is that you can get away with for an awful long time, but eventually you think you can do anything (qf. Sepp Blatter) and you start to take the piss, and eventually people (who really don't want to be bothered most of the time) sit up and take notice.

And yet United are still in three competitions and top of the Premier League. Odd that.

So many rumours of 'Pool sniffing round Jarvis.. sad thing is that he would actually slot in perfectly there. Fuck.

It's not the world cup bids that people are against FIFA for, it's more about football as a whole.

Signed an eon ago. The lower league grounds in England/Wales (r.i.p. Ninian Park), had a far better atmosphere then any of the seated ground. Hell everything to have people seated and quiet these days.

Depends how much 'pool offer.. seems we are going to be subject to a bidding war over Jarvis/Hennessey this summer though.

I've never experienced a stadium with standing room. Mental. My step-dad always goes on about how great it was watching Birmingham in the 70s, ha. Sadly in nanny-state Britain I can't see its return being anything other than an incredibly remote possibility.

Ground in League 1/2 and CCC have terraces still. The atmosphere I've experienced there is insane.

Shows how little you know about football if you think anti Blatter and FIFA sentiment is only based on the world cup bid.

Blatter is a cancer on world football, he's been allowed to grow for to long. Time for a serious does of chemo.

Nope it would be WC Bid, Lampard's disallowed goal and as Punishment just showed, Thierry Henry's hand ball.

The only thing that consistently gets up my arse is the fact that we are not using technology to assist referees in the game and the fact that it is not used after games to punish people that got away with stuff in game - diving, spitting fouling etc.

I respect the decision to take the WC to new places, i also like the idea of forcing clubs to field a limited number of foreign players - hated the idea at first but can see the logic behind it now.

I also like the fact that they were brave enough to take a decision insisting that WC games cannot be played above 3,000m.

With a sport watched by almost the entire television owning population of the globe you will never be able to satisfy everyone and esp moaners like you and overall i think he and FIFA as a whole have done a wonderful job of building up the WC over the years.

It has not been perfect but good overall.

Yep, as I thought you know nothing tierk.

Vasc; platini despite his flaws is not corrupt, he has good ideas for the future if the game, fairness of competition and the protection of the game from grass roots up. He'll be FIFA president one day. It's the press that give him a bad name.

And decisions like not implementing technology in the games because "it would break the spirit of football".

Im sick at crap referees when you could have stuff like they do in the NFL :twak:

Vasc; the technology argument has nothing to do with him. That's a decision for FIFA and the IFAB which is comprised of the 4 UK FA's and 4 FIFA reps. He can say he's against the idea, but he doesn't have any power to block it's introduction if it's decided to be used by the IFAB. IFAB require a majority of 6 votes for rules changes.

Also remember IFAB voted against it last time (the 4 fifa members that are part of IFAB), based on FIFA's recommendation that the technology was not accurate enough. Now they ignored hawk eye, which is accurate enough in favour of testing the system by their sponsor (it was either Nike or Addidas) which is shit.

No i wouldn't be, quite frankly i was as surprised as everyone else was at Qatar's bid being accepted. I certainly wasn't screaming blue murder when Qatar failed to get the Olympics for 2016.

I just don't see what all the fuss is about, whoever wins, wins simple. The way you keep going on about my rose tinted glasses as if i am Qatari or benefiting from it in some way is just silly.

And you are still banging on about the world cup bid when no one else is. Talk about small man syndrome translation to a whole nation.

Yep, as I thought you know nothing tierk.

I am sorry to point this out to you but footballing wisdom doesn't come with posting the most on a football thread on this forum :p

Trust me when i tell you i have not seen or read anything posted by you on any thread related to football that makes me think you are some vast font of knowledge.

If anything you come across as one half of Saint & Greavsie (Choo being the other half) who can be quite funny at times and have knowledge about the game :)
