Christ how close has it got at the bottom of the table now? Anyone at or below 13th could tumble right down with a bad couple of games.

Borini for the win. He's been banging in obscene amounts at reserve level and two on his professional debut. The new Inzaghi.

Another ground out result... but the referee's show again the inconsistancy of decisions. Evans red card was no where near as bad as carraghers tackle... both players dived in for the ball, he won the ball, but he was slightly leading with the studs. Not going to complain he got a red but the referee association and the FA really need to make sure there is more consistancy in decision making.

Guess it a Smalling/Brown centre back pairing until Vidic recovers, guess it means more game time for Fabio who is always looking to attack.

Shame Arsenal got a draw, means we cant afford to lose to them if they win their game in hand... was hoping to have that buffer zone :(

And certainly getting interesting at the bottom.lol

Agreed. If we beat Newcastle (our next match), then they can be dragged into. I genuienly fear for Villa going down, with Houllier in charge they are the worst Villa side I have ever seen tbh.

Good read and truthful tbh. We are an extremely well run club with the three M's at the helm. In a grand position when the new financial rules comes in. Morgan clearly has a vision of seeing Wolves in Europe again, but he is smart with his investment and knows that slow progress is the key.

It's odd to look back 5 seasons or so ago when we were facing possibly the worst season since I've been a Wolves fan, to now when we are able to take on the big boys and win. Didn't think any of us ever though Wolves would go places like Anfield and Villa Park and come away with three points.

Steady progress is the key however, but we do have the fan base in tow, the town (or city :ninja:) is getting major redevelopments to bring us out of a place that depends on failing industries.

All I know is that I can't wait. Never thought in my wildest dreams I'd see Wolves doing so well, the future is bright. To see Wolves in Europe one day would be utterly insane.. but a place where we (historically) belong tbh.

EDIT : To add to that, people must remember that the side is near enough the same as the one that came up for the CCC. Just alot of players have upped there game.

Also.. Kightly back on the bench. Those who werent watching 2 years ago.. (hah), would know that he was twice the player Jarvis was and if it werent for injuries.. well.. it can only ever be guessed. But a welcome return, will be like a new signing :D, and the roar from our lot when he takes to the field again will be immense.

That was a quality goal by Jarvis and we were lucky not to be 3-0 down at that point. Wolves wanted the game more, our lot looked like they were sick of the manager and his shit tactics ... by the end of the game I'd say 90% of the Villa fans felt the same way.

Nothing but respect for Wolves and their fans today. If this defeat gets Houllier his P45 it could still be a good day. Worst performance by a Villa team that I've seen in 30 years and I've seen some utter crap in my time.

Summed up by the absolute barrage (and deserved) when he took Albrighton off for Gabby. Your up shit creek without a paddle atm Turamber.

It's interesting, Houllier was in the studio for Canal+ (French channel) for the RM/Lyon game on Wednesday and he was as animated as I have ever seen him - complete contrast to how he is in post-match interviews. It can't be a language thing because he's worked in England for donkeys years and speaks very good English (I think, compared to some of the other foreign managers).

Just there for the payout with Villa tbh. The players hate him and vice versa it seems. Villa stick with and they WILL go down. Mark my words.

Yesterday was just another usual day in this season, MU squeezing out a win and Arsenal once again having defensive issues....this could well mean Chelsea will lose today.

I'm expecting City's standard 3 defensive midfielders to start, with us making one mistake that pug features Tevez will capitalise on and score from :/

Edit - Turns out its Torres' birthday today, that gives him another special occasion to flop on :D

Does anyone agree that in terms of competitiveness and entertainment value, that this season has been one of the best?

Seems any team can beat any team, only got to see the bottom half that even Wigan with a few results going there way could push for a Europa League spot.
