Fun game, the Scouse battled hard so fair play to them for that but we weren't great and still won. As the saying goes, a win is a win. :D

You mean the scousers best friend Webb? or did you ignore corrans post?

Typical Liverpool fan, head in the sand.

Silly Season Update

It has now been confirmed that Howard Webb has signed a 3 year contract with Manchester United.

Only mistake he made was the Penalty . . . which you see given all the time... tbh the refs make this a big issue as they refuse to give a penalty to players that stay on their feet, therefore if there is contact and a player thinks it is a foul they hit the deck most the time.
It does ruin the game, but a foul is a foul, shouldnt matter if you stay on your feet or not but refs dont see it that way.

Red card was correct... just look at Kenny's reaction when he watches the replay. No complaints or anything, merely a "ffs" face at what Gerrard stupidly did.

Liverpool looked better then they have for a long time. It was expected that they would step up against UTD anyways, but it been a long time since they have worked that hard in a match and if they keep up that level of effort then they should get out the rut... with that said it shows how much a bunch of twats they are as it goes to show they didnt even want to try play for Roy and gives the impression they purposely played bad in order to try get rid of him.

There was absolutely no question that was a red card.

Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish: "The two decisions are important factors in the game. If you take those away, our players showed great commitment because it's a difficult place to play. The supporters stayed with us for the whole game and the players worked tremendously hard. I don't think it's a penalty kick. The referee didn't blow instantly for the sending off..."

Zzzz this sort of comment is just plainly unfounded. The players all put in just as much effort under Hodgson. The main factor is lack of confidence, which was plainly still there today. Lucas still looks terrified when moving forward, god only knows what is going on in Torres' head these days and Maxi still has difficulty controlling the ball with the same being true for most of the team. What will hopefully be different is that Dalglish will pick our strongest team, as shown today. Aurelio and especially Agger were decent. We really need someone like Agger who is comfortable on the ball, can pass and dribble a bit alongside a blunt object like Skrtel or Carra.

What has todays game got to do with games years ago? :twak:

All you scouse sheep bleating on about Webb being a homer but the truth is that Webb has awarded a ton on controversial decisions over the years in your favour. You just conviently forget those when one goes against you like most of us football fans do. :D

He was in todays game, I don't see how todays game has anything to do with past games, you saying that he should even out decisions?

No, what's he saying is the claim that Webb is somehow playing against Liverpool is a load of bollocks and that the only reason Liverpool fans continue claiming otherwise is because they conveniently forget all the decisions he's made that have gone in their favour,

About Dalglish taking over, me thinks, that this is one of the biggest mistakes made by LFC and Dalglish himself. They should ahve waited until the end of the season as there is nothing worse than changing a manager in mid season.

Yes RH had made a terrible start but this cannot be all his fault alone. The players are also to blame. We have been abysmal all season and the manger takes some of the blame but players are the ones on the pitch at the end of the day.

As much as i hate to admit it, we are a shadow of what we used to be and i cant help feeling changing mid season and bringing in someone that will only be in charge until the end of the season is doing nothing but opening the door to more shit signings, who will not be part of the plan of any new manager coming into take over at the end of the season.

I am also stunned that Dalglish has agreed to take over and think that this will take away something from his amazing legacy at LFC as a player and a manager. Football fans are fickle and 8 titles in the bag will mean nothing if we continue to lose games as we have been.

Anyway onward and upward and fingers crossed it wont be as bad as i am thinking it will turn out.

I didnt watch todays game but if anyone was expecting us to turn over ManU today all i can say is ... No chance and be realistic ffs.

From Liverpool forward Ryan Babel on Twitter: "And they call him one of the best referees. That's a joke smh [shaking my head]."

Didn't he get in hot water over some twitter stuff before? :p

lol,
he probably be in trouble for that. Would expect it to be just a small fine that done outside of the media... unless the FA want to hammer a point home.

I don't think anyone was expecting us to coast to victory over United, but should that not mean we shouldn't get upset over such a dive-goal?

And sacking RH was the only thing to do. If you would have watched today you would have seen the players run and play in a fashion not seen this season (could be to do with Carra still beeing injured tho, no hoooooofing).

Edit: And I loved the fact that we got early sub's when things didn't work out instead of waiting for the clock to reach exactly 70 min to do the sub :)

nice to see all the Man Utd fans admit that Berbatov is as bad as Gerrard on the diving front

Hey I never said the penalty and the dive was anything other than pathetic. :(

On a side note, 2 more for CRonaldo so far today.

loved Babel's comments, not sure what's so bad about that when nobody bats an eyelid at Walcott admitting he dived.

oh and well done to chelsea for turning up for my trip to the bridge, some of our kids are looking pretty good :)
