Yeah, it's the massive amount of people that makes it a risk, the surrounding roads, and the need for massive police presence. It's not cheap, and I don't see any need to put the public or police at risk for something that is not that important at the end of the day.

I don't know many shops, pubs or restaurants that have 40,000 people all turn up at once

I don't know many shops the size of Stamford Bridge with 100's of extances/exits, numerous public transport links which are all operating and 100's of police/stewards.

People are able to get around London just fine, West London is far from at a standstill. 90% of the fans going to that game are from the south-east and the transport links are up.

Yeah people going round fine - causing chaos on the roads and accidents that don't need to happen.

Footy games put massive strain on local transport and the emergency services. Strain that isn't needed in bad conditions like these.

I'd rather have no football than one incident that could have been prevented otherwise.
