Other than Carvalho, he's the only Madrid player i have any love for, i think he'll win some of the big individual awards in the future.

I love Marcelo. I like how he has fought his way up, and he's really overlooked in my opinion. He has all the tools, except experience.

"Clearly, it is not fair or accurate to suggest that United outperformed Liverpool as a result of increased wage spending. As the figures here show, the difference between LFC and MUFC overall is comparatively minor: 20m extra spent by United over a 19 year period. Is that all it took to win 11 more titles than Liverpool? Or is it the influence of a world class manager that made the difference?"

I think he summed it up best when he said United outperformed Liverpool with a very similair spend because we had a far better manager. You know what, he might be a Liverpool fan but I really admire his honestly and if you read some of the other articles on that site you cannot help but respect the bloke. If other Liverpool fans would take it all onboard and accept it then that would be the first step back to becoming English champions again. They need to get over the rivalry and hatred, accept the fact that their club and it is a GREAT club has not been as well run or the team well managed as they should have been for the last 20 years.

I heard Gary Neville has completed his coach badges (or is close to) and would be his replacement.

Yep there is a strong chance of that happening now that Nev is just a bit part player in the first team.

Last time Liverpool won a league title the keeper could still pick the ball up from a backpass,coincidence?:D

I hope he doesnt Ch3t. Spurs will score soon though, we've defended well enough but we're up against a team with no arial threat (untill Crouch comes on). Looked like we're out of ideas going forward too, decent when we get on the ball but none of our midfielders seem to know how to unlock a defence. Something I really hope we sort out in January.

According to the beeb commentary you've had two attacks and spurs are all over you. Parked the bus and only Gordon has kept you in the game....

Much better second half, thought Gyan was good at holding the ball up and took his goal well, Turner was immense at the back and Onouoha made Bale look average. Good point for me.

From BBC;

mdriver11 on Twitter: "The Spurs-Sunderland game shows that teams are starting to figure out how to play against Gareth Bale. Maicon not included."

So who's the manager of the team who didn't figure out Bale twice in two games?

:D

Pepe Reina warns Liverpool he may leave at the end of the season | Football | The Guardian

sounds like Reina won't be willing to stick around if there isn't a chance of winning the EPL or CL.

They are further away now than they have ever been imo. United have the squad and good income, City have the squad and an obscenely rich sugar daddy, Chelsea have the squad plus good income and a sugar daddy. Not forgetting Arsenal with a big stadium and mad season ticket prices giving them very healthy finances.

Liverpool don't have a great squad although a few great players, they don't have a great manager although a good manager, they don't have a massive stadium and the new owners are not putting in a huge transfer budget so Hodgson is going to have to be very selective where he spends. I am not saying it is impossible for them to win the EPL, that would be foolhardy but I don't see it happening unless some big changes happen in everything I listed above.
