He's been playing bloody well since January, and he tore Maicon a new one twice in the champions league but the boys done fuck all atm, yet every report has him mentioned about being sold, being the worlds greatest player, everyone wishing he was English.

Everytime he's had the ball today against Bolton they refer back to tuesday as a reference.

Is Bale as good as the media are making him out to be? No.

Maicon is one of the best Attacking full backs in the world, no problem there. However brazilian full backs are not best known for their defensive skills. That's probably part of the reason why brazil always has 1, normally 2 defensive midfielders who can move accross in case the full back gets caught out high up the pitch.

ok here's my point. Bale made Maicon look like a muppet on two occasions, however Raphael at Man Utd is not exactly the best full back in the world, but he kept Bale quiet all game.

I would love to see Spurs play a few teams with a good defensive right back and then we'll see how good he is.

He's not playing at left back though, and he certainly isn't as good at defending as he is going forward. His form at the moment is off the back of himm playing at left wing.

Drop him to left back and you aint getting those runs or crosses as often because he can't risk it all game.

Even Steinsons goal (Boltons right back) the commentator said how do you deal with gareth bale? That's how rofl.. Fucking sky.

That's my point though, Raphael is a young full back who is quite attacking, yet he did a good job of defending against Bale.

The point I am making is that a more defensively moulded full back would in theory cope with Bale fairly easy.

I noticed you mentioned world class defenders who are all attacking (albeit Lahm who can do both very well), however I was not saying "oh lets see Bale against a world class defensive full back". I would just like to see how he copes against a 'good' defensive full back.
