Oh i agree it could well have been but he did it in a very tastless fashion that made it look insuling to the fans and club. Intent or not thats how it looked.
Haha I had a feeling Chet would be defending Rooney and his money grabbing ways, that whole saga should have been done behind closed doors. I'd be expecting Rooney to do alot this season to justify himself after the performance he's put on over the last week.
So what is your take on it all then mate? I know theres alot of crap been spouted in the press but generally there's no smoke without fire. As a Man Utd fan whats been going through your head this week?
well for a start I didn't believe there was a single chance of him signing for city. It's just a story that the newspapers could not pass up. I had all my Arsenal fan cousins goading about him going, but they wouldn't take my bet (£5 each, for 4 of them) that Rooney would not go City, and would probably end up staying.
I thought the whole thing was a bit of a mess. Fergie used his experience to back Rooney and his camp into a corner. Rooney countered with the only reasoning he could to save any face. It all stunk of spin. Rooney deflected onto the Glazers, knowing the fans would have to grudgingly agree with his views. I saw the ambition thing as an attack on the lack of money and debt levels.
I thought that we'd probably offload him in summer if Fergie couldn't convince him to stay, and that he'd go Madrid.
edit:// FS. Really annoyed at Evra earlier now when he appealed for a handball instead of playing a second cross in.
I still think there's something more going on with him, since the ankle knock last year his form has been way off. He's just not been able to play as well as he has done for the past 6 years or so. Almost looked like the fire and passion he usually plays with has gone. Wether thats due to shagging around, contract disputes or something else we don't know about I'm not sure.
Im not saying he is a bad player. Just that I belive there is something else going on in his head which is effecting his form. I know players have bad periods in their careers most of them tend to happen when they move to SAFC haha! Even if Rooney is out of form and not scoring goals I'd still expect to see him playing with the same passion and aggresion, as he did a couple of years ago when he had a lean spell in front of goal.
Must be a cracking crowd then if all you want to do at half time is fiddle with your phone. Though the ground did look pretty empty with 10 minutes to go. Are all city fans glory supporters or something?
