Still has Besiktas at home which will most likely mean 3pts and then they're pretty sure to go on through

You still have APOEL! They're a tough nut to crack! Believe me

We already beat APOEL away Corn ;d

That was probably our worst performance of the season so far, was so boring.

I'd happily go to closer games, and do a couple of times a year. But tbh after going West ham v Spurs and seeing lots of really angry shit it's put me off going for a while.

You expect to go to a match and there not to be alot of angry shit going on? Jeez.. can tell you rarely go.

What do you mean by Angry shit because if you are talking about fighting and crowd trouble then in about 20 games a season there is crowd trouble and Spurs and maybe Man U. Suggesting trouble is the norm is way off the mark in Premiership football.

I've been to Arse games and never seen any trouble, only a handful mind, I've been to Spurs games at home and never seen trouble, I been to Palace when I was younger and never saw any trouble. So yes, seeing shit at west ham makes me think football has a bad name because of ***** who cannot change, much like you seen to think is fine Everz. I don't give a shit about friendly abuse and banter, but racism and violence has no place in football or society. If you think it does then you are fail tbh.

I mean by racist, offensive, homophobic comments etc, its rarely to go to a match without those being there.

I'd say those things were always common denominators with the football fanbase, but it is gradually becoming better. That said football will always have a tribal side to it.

The same Arsenal fans who barely raised a song or a chant at the Emirates were frothing with rage, screaming unpleasant comments and threatening physical abuse on Villa fans a couple of seasons ago -- partly because some were singing the Eduardo song to wind them up, and also the chants of 'Have you won the European Cup' got them rather wound up.

People who don't often go to matches find that tribalism, and the confrontation that goes with it, unsettling and it puts them off going more often.

But then the opposite end of the spectrum is rather lame ... stadia filled with spectators who have to be given flags with instructions on how to use them, or scalves to wave and a cue to commence their waving. Presumably the people who need those instructions are sitting their dumbfounded waiting for Andy Gray to tell them what is going on...

Shame some bullies ruined all the fun in football for you guys.. Sitting down, no proper flags, no drums, no proper beers, perma-ban for flares etc etc.

That's half the fun of going to a footy match to me

Must say I miss standing. People had been standing on the terraces for 120 years plus before Hillsborough without incident ... but as usual a Government had to make political capital out of an incident.

And it had much more to do with lack of proper police control than anything else.

I know its only one example but a guy sat next to me shouted "You Stupid... Racial Slur" at a player and the guy in front of me complained to a steward. 5 minutes later he came back with a cop and the guy was arrested and escorted out. I imagine a ban from the Emirates followed that.

Im all for calling Drogba a diving shit **** but as soon as you go racial its out of order.

What would happen if everyone just decided to stand up and not give a fuck and don't make any trouble?

I can't help but sling out something racial every once in a while.. OB/FCM used to have a polish goalkeeper and we always reminded him that his mother was selling herself back in Poland

A cuple of game i have been too back at Highbury the whole crowd stood the first few minutes the stewards asked you to sit but then just left you do it. Another time they put over the PA system if you did not sit down the Ref will be asked to stop the game so it prolly depends on the Police Chief in charge

I found the flares imtimidating when I watched a couple matches in Italy, probably because I'm not used to them and am by all accounts abit of a pussy.

Flares can be scary in the hands of a retard or some other no-brainer, but if handled correctly, they're fucking awesome

Example:

waving with flares - fine

throwing flares - worst fucking idea ever

YouTube - Fck - BiF - Romerlys Brøndby Stadion

imo atleast...

I hope they implement standing sections of the stadium one day, in the same way that Bundesliga stadiums work. You'd think clubs would push for it since forcing everyone to sit really affects the atmosphere, singing while sitting on your crappy little seat is rubbish.

Fucksake :(

Also Newcastles stadium has been renamed!

Newcastle United have announced their stadium will be known as the sportsdirect.com @ St James' Park Stadium for the immediate future.
