What a summer! My favourite singer, Michael Jackson dies. My favourite actor, Patrick Swayze dies. My favourite chef, Keith Floyd dies... Can I take this opportunity to let everyone know that my favourite footballer is Emmanuel Adebayor!

Stolen from the quote thread, class :)

Berba has been inspirational since coming on for Owen. If only he had more luck infront of goal right now. His interplay and creativity are giving Wolfsburg major issues.

god damn, M'bia got to be one of the best CM's in the world right now - and yes, that's based on one match. He's pure class.

sigh, Ronaldo got a lucky goal, Marseille got a red card right after, and now it's 2-0  it was such a good match up untill then.

Always used to think Giggs was overrated, but in the last 4-5 years he's been a revelation.

Will you say good lad if he scores a double and knocks you out tho?:) One of English teams at the least i feel is going to come unstuck vs Real.

Overrated? In what way? 11 champioships since he joined Utd, scored in every CL he has participated in, I don't know how many goals and 800 games played..

People used to dribble over him, but I couldn't really see what he did -- other than *that* goal against Arsenal. But since people have started saying he was a bit past it ... he's been sensational.

His runs were amazing, his ability to dribble and beat players plus his crossing made him a constant threat, that is why he was so highly rated. He is highly rated now because he can pick and choose his runs despite lacking the pace and energy he used to have, and his creative play is still great, if anything its got better with age.

He had alot of bad luck with hamstring injuries which resulted in him having a few poor seasons , i even remember united fans turning on him at one point and wanted fergie to sell him. I was only a young lad in the early 90s but we had sky and i remember watching united alot on it and giggs was only second to cantona in that early 90s united team.

Im a sunderland fan but giggs was always good to watch.

Honestly? Yes, he was a great great player for us and unless he shows a lack of class by insulting us when he scores I will always be happy to see the lad do well.

10 more like him in the league and football would be a damn sight more entertaining. Sadly we only seem to coach fast strong tall lads who can't dribble for shit these days.

Im not gonna say he is the next Giggs or even like Giggs but young Jack Wilshire loves putting his head down and running at people and if he can keep improving i think he will make one hell of a player,

He was carrying the injury going into the match but wanted to take the risk for champions league football.. think it was a bit of a stupid decision tbh as now we dont have a striker that can come of the bench and add something different in the game.

Hate to admit it, but truelly saw what Berbatov brings to the United side last night. He not the finisher taht the team lack (miss RVN etc type player), but he created so much more for us when he came on.

i knew that he was good at helping create play, but his lack of composure infront of goal most the time annoys me... but he was inspirational with some his touches etc yesterday

Well we have Joshua King (potential to be a big star), Kiko Macheda and Danny Wellbeck. Giggs also plays well off Rooney when called upon so we will be just fine. :)

Not a bad return for £30m. One good game.

COme back Veron, all is forgiven.

It wasn't one good game, I've been impressed with the majority of his performances. Seems a lot of people believe media hype too much.

Everytime i've seen him he's slowed up attacks and offered nothing more than random delicate flicks on that almost never work.

Did not see Everton getting back into this, but it was a good set play. Watching uefa cup in HD is bizarre.

Very tough game there, excellent result. BATE had a lot of possession as well, especially towards the end of the game.

Benfica is going to be the true test though, going to be either Everton or Benfica topping the group i think.

YES !

my irl buddys think he's an attacking dynamo and I just dont see it, he over hit a few passes and does some short passes. But I would trade him out for most other strikers imo.
Also i know he supposed to have laid back attitude but it really pisses me off when he gets offside from walking behind the defense after an attack breaks down, and im not even a manu fan but still winds me up when the "best" players cant do the simple things.
