Based on Coles form before a year of injury? Because on current form Milner is the better option.

But Cole is a better player, is he not? You cannot disagree with that.

Cole WAS the better player... injuries can do strange things to a player and on current form he isnt a shadow of the player he was.

You cant take players that used to play well... you take players that are playing well at the time a squad is to be announced

He was but you can never say he will be again after a lay off like that you will need to wait and see. But i would take a player on white hot form rather than a unknown Joe Cole. If Cole does come back to the same level and hits form its a harder choice.

We are lacking on the wings, if Joe Cole is fit he should go to South Africa.

Seeing Liverpool sat in 8th brings tears of joy to my eyes. :D

be better ifi they were last.

and lmfao @ chelsea..

they are the only team out of something like a dozen teams that refuse to defer money owed from portsmouth to later in the year.

THey are owed 750k from the glen johnson sell-on clause and being that they refusing to delay the payment it will stick transfer embargo on portsmouth and no doubt lead to administration.

It hilarous that a team that was in chelsea's position a few years back would happily do this to another club.. especially when they probably would be getting most that money in January out the TV Income Portsmouth are due (and the FA no doubt will withhold to pay some of these debts)

I like Joe Cole a great deal, but the way Milner is improving who knows who will be the better player come the World Cup. He can also play both flanks, full back, centre midfield and as a striker. A player like that would be priceless in the World Cup squad.

I'd bring Milner and Cole to the world cup if they were on form. Milner has really impressed me when i have seen him play.

Joe Cole has been very poor so far this season and has yet to make an impact on any league or european games whatsoever. He's been a passenger most of the time :(

Hopefully it's a case of fitness and he'll be back to his best soon but to be fair he's always been rather inconsistent anyway.

yep its our fault theyre in debt

He did not say that, and you know it. Why chase them for what is a drop in the ocean to you? What real harm would waiting till Jan do?

Berba's assist and valencia's finish last night were fucking amazing!

no it isnt, but the fact is 750k would cover what, 1/10th of the chelsea weekly wage bill if your lucky. You could easily wait a month or so for that money as it nothing to a club like chelsea with their bottomless money bag.

Chelsea are the biggest club that is owed money by Portsmouth, the other clubs could do with what they owed alot more then your guys and are understanding and compassionate about the position. Yet they defer the payments whilst chelsea refuse to.

I bet when chelsea were £100m in debt (iirc) you would have gone nuts if big teams such as man utd went "You owe us money, give us it now" and forced you into administration, certain relegation and wouldnt surprise me if pompy end up folding as a club in the end. That or they be in league 1/2 like certain other clubs ended up.
...

Given the situation and that pompy arent a threat to chelsea then I think a bit of compassion and defering for a month or two shouldnt be an issue. Refusal to do so removes any respect I have of the club.

Pompy are stupid to get into that position. But tbh it isnt the clubs fault. Alot of it is down to this rediculous ownership situation with constant being sold and the owners then going "i invested x, give me my money back". The actual team are getting punished now due to these idiots and I dont like seeing that.

Looks like Wenger is going to have to have another rant at half time. 1-1 at Burnley.

2017: I just lost £20 in a bet about David Ngog not scoring more than five goals this season. I think he's the worst player I've ever lost a bet on.

made me laugh

Burnley are very good at home, tough place to go. Spurs 3 Man City 0 is a turn up for the books, had that down for a banker of a draw. I think its fair to say Man City are flattering to deceive, players who leave Champions League teams to earn a lot of money are hardly going to be well motivated to get back into said League.

City were fucking dire tonight, we could've had them buried by HT if we'd taken our chances properly. Some things worth watching for on MoTD tonight (30 mins to go!):
* Dawson's clear cut handball (sounds familiar ;))
* Toure's ??? whilst trying to stop Defoe scoring, answers to what he's trying to do on a postcard
* Adebayor being unbelievably shit
* Niko's third goal against a statuesque City defence, terrible defending but a class finish
