Spurs, Aston Villa, Stoke > Birmingham, Wigan, Burnley :worthy:

If you couldn't win the league with only 2 losses last season how do you expect to win it this year when you still have 8 games against the likes of Arsenal/Chelsea/City/United? :worthy:

One injury to Torres or Gerrard and it is game over.

If you could only win the league with only a 4 point gap over Liverpool last season how do you expect to win it this year without C.Ronaldo while losing to the likes of Burnley? :worthy:

Oh, and about that 8 game thing you said about, if i were you i would look at all those fixtures Man Utd have after losing to Burnley:clap:

:D 2-1 Without them? Well, Gerrard came on about 80th min? :)

Apart from Alonso i would say Liverpool are much stronger this season.. with Johnson and Aquilani that is..

Burnley was hopefully a blip, we created more than enough chances to beat them and we lost because we had makeshift defence combined with a lazy bastard called Carrick.

As for Ronaldo, we will miss him no doubt and I am not that confident we can win the league this year, I just don't see enough goals in the side, especially in midfield.

Liverpool have problems though, the defence is performing badly, you have lost Alonso and replaced him with someone who has so far flattered to decieve in his career. On your day you are a very very good side but without your two best players your squad would struggle to a top 10 finish, I say that with sincerity as well.

How can you say that? Neither player has done a thing yet, your squad looks weaker thus far, not stronger.

Carrick is driving me nuts at the moment, the guy has talent but he has such a lazy attitude. :( Hope Hargreaves gets fit again, Carrick would be lucky to get 20 games a season.

Johnson was class against Stoke and showed abit of class against Stoke and Villa..

Its what Liverpool have been lacking..

And Aquilani well i just have a feeling about him :)

Yeah, Han Solo had a feeling as well and look how that turned out. :p

Johnson is a decent player but if you Liverpool fans are expecting a £19 million talent you are going to be disappointed, he was over-priced because he is English and young but the value was probably twice what his real worth is. Micah Richards would have been a much much better buy and 4 years younger too.

That's what I've always said, and I pretty much got it confirmed when I've had the oppurtunity to see him live. The man can't tackle, and he has the same work rate as Zlatan.

Ryan Giggs has performed some fantastic tackles in the middle of late, he is a much smaller build than Carrick but alot braver. Carrick is a real enigma, big lad and good on the ball but can't tackle and not brave or quick.

Well we've had a great start to the season. 4 wins out of 4 :D The only way is up!! .....if we don't sell Beckford

Funny old start to the premiership. Burnley winning 2 games (still think they will be relegated though), Villa losing to Wigan then beating Liverpool. The Scousers will never win the league with that fat waiter in charge.

The loss of Alonso has been horrendously underrated by a lot of Liverpool fans, it's there for all to see with Liverpool on 3 points after 3 games. Noone in the team can spray the ball out with such ease and precision as Alonso can.

Aquilani will never replace him, for someone who struggles to remain fit in Serie A, how will he cope with crunching tackles week in week out? He's not a crap player by any means, but i see him as less of a playmaker than Alonso, so Liverpool's play may have to alter slightly to get the best from him.

That said - Liverpool have a chance to dust themselves and get on track with games against Bolton, Burnley, West Ham and Hull before coming to the Bridge. Hopefully we can maintain our early momentum and put another dent in their aspirations - so far i'm very pleased with how Carlo's done.

^ Hahahahahaha! rep for that gif.

Both Liverpool and Man Utd have looked equally unimpressive imo.

Too reliant on Gerrard and Torres, the latter will inevitable get injured, who will replace him? N'gog? :D
Glen Johnson does give them a bit of an extra dimension in attack but by god he is terrible at defending. I think for every goal he contributes to he'll be responsible for conceding another.

I also think United are too reliant on Rooney. If he got injured i think their whole attack would fall flat on it's face. The midfield is solid yet very unspectacular. Berbatov has his moments but often seems to be on a different wavelength to everyone else.

Arsenal have impressed though, Vermaelen has made all the difference in defence so far. If they can keep players fit and injury free (big if) then they've got a great shot at the title.

Liverpool's squad not strong enough, United's squad lacking players who can really penetrate a well organised defence, Arsenal's squad lacking numbers and strength to last the course of a busy season.

Chelsea are the only top 4 side that improved their squad this year and I think it could be the deciding factor come May 2010. The chasing 3 of City/Villa/Spurs will all take points off the top 4 but I think Chelsea may well come out of those games with the fewest points lost.

Good summary.

It's down to Ancelotti and the usual bit of luck i guess. I do think we have a great squad all round right now, and with a few key* players aging we need to just win ;)

I hate being the favourites :( I'm sure the premierleague will throw up some upsets as usual.

*everyone goes on about how old we are, we're not that old :p Lampard looks like he's got a lot left in him due his play style, all i feel we need to replace is our fowards, but that can be done over time 'cos right now Drogba is still a beast and Anelka's still a quality striker:)

TBH i think our squad is fairly level new guy replaces Kolo and a fit Eduardo can get the 15 goals of Moneybuymore. what seems to be the difference at the moment is the squad seems more happy and more together maybe the rift between kolo and gallas and ade and the rest of the strikers affected us too much last year.

FUCKING LOL.

Aquillani is a joke, £20mill for a midfielder with questionable fitness levels and unproven in the premier league?

Berbatov is a joke, £30M for a lazy ass striker who just about reached 1goal in 3 game ratio last season?

You expect more for 30M..

And yet Robbie Keane's record for Liverpool was about 1 in 4 for 20m? :p
