Marouane Chamakh looks like an interesting signing for whoever gets him, when I checked out his stats on wiki I was quite suprised by his 1 goal every other game ratio over the last 3 seasons along with regular goals in Europe. For a free transfer he seems like an absolute steal.

According to what i read he has already signed with us but Arsenal and the player agreed to wait till the season finishes to announce it. I suppose he does not want to upset his current club. As a free agent i believe he could sign a deal with another club back in January?

If he's that good how come none of the other "big" clubs have shown any interest?

Last year I read that West Ham and Spurs were in for him, I think that says it all.

Hes not good enough for barca or real madrid. United have rooney and berba and chelsea are fine with drogba and Anelka. Liverpool arent big enough for him so that leaves the Arse

Berbatov won't be at United next season.

Aguero rumours seem to be gathering pace as of late, heard anything from the Spanish side?

I was just looking at his stats on wikipedia and they are skewed, is there anywhere reliable to look at them? On wiki it seems someone has added an extra 10 goals from nowhere to his season total. He seems to average 10 goals/season in the French league.

A free sounds about right :p

Nothing new. Chelsea want him and he is keen on chelsea, but Athletico dont want to sell before the world cup. This would be fine except....Chelsea are prepared to spend big on him from what I gather, so lets say they offer 40m. Are athletico really going to get much more, if any more for him if he has a good world cup? People are already aware of who he is so it doesnt make sense. You could understand it, if it was some unknown player, but it isnt.

1 in 3 is his strike rate.

Arsene Wenger doctored it to make it look like he wasnt buying someone crap

Something from Guillem Balague's column on Sky Sports this week;

"ARTETA FOR BARCA?
Hey Guillem, Barcelona are mad about Cesc Fabregas. They have offered for him numerous times. Even though Fabregas says he wants to stay at Arsenal for his whole career. Do you think Mikel Arteta would be a perfect alternative to Fabregas? He is a great central midfielder with an attacking edge and is also an excellent set-piece taker. He can also play as a holding/defensive midfielder. And as he is only 28 he would have a lot of years left in him. Lay Durafe

GUILLEM SAYS: The new chairman will make an offer for Fabregas which will be accepted by Cesc. Mikel Arteta was on the bench for Real Sociedad when he left Spain and he's perfect for Everton."

Hasnt he got a silly high release clause in his contract?

He also gets something like 120k a week, so he'd have to take a paycut to come here due to tax differences.

Aye the tax breaks 'foriegn' players manage to get in spain is crazy, though it being done away with which is making Spainish teams cry. Not sure if the law quite changed yet, but it is being changed as i think we discussed, so something gonna have to change on his contract renewal anyways, and Athletico wouldnt be able to pay him the difference as they financially screwed anyways.

I think if he gonna go to Chelsea, he will have to accept about 125k a week or so before tax (unless roman breaks his plan and dips in his pocket more). That means he be on a massive loss of income if he moves.

The point that people still continue to miss with this (not you Corran but on other forums) that even when the tax break is closed, they will still earn more in spain than they would in england on the same gross wage.

Well it certainly makes sense for us to buy him.

He can play striker/wide right/in the hole. All positions we're lacking in, and he's young, and awesome.

commentator seems to think so, i thought Lopez moved the ball at the last moment, replacing it with his foot. Therefore Ribery trod on him, it was a bit high and forceful but a red seems harsh imo

european games have stricter rules regarding tackles like that though. Im sure in a PL game a few refs would of given a red aswell.

What's happening with ribery outside of football btw?

He went high, way over ball height and led with his studs. Definate red and if Munich get through to final he should miss it. That has to be a minimum 2 match ban (should be 3).

I thought something might happen with Ribery.. it looked like he was ready to punch the guy by the corner flag who went in strong and took the ball and a bit of him.

The second toulalan tackle wasn't a yellow. It would have given a freekick at max, if schweinsteiger wasn't jumping around like that.

Ah well, more excitement for the viewers :)

he had sex with a 17 year old prostitute in france. The legal age is probably 18 over there.

Yep the married Islam convert Ribery allegedly had sex with a 17 year old hoe. Which is illegal in France, as you have to be 18 to sell your body.

Also Ben Arfa, Govou and Benzema are all alleged to have slept with her.
