I'm not actually, i mentioned self-esteem as an added paragraph(i think) and i meant people judging your self-respect amount via looks.

I agree - how you look has nothing to do with your self-respect. For example i have plenty of self-respect, but dress in torn up jeans and a ratty t-shirt outside of work (altho suits inside work).

Simply put, i think people like pigeonholing others easily and this is yet one more mechanism to do this "at a glance".

Absolutely honestly, the frequency is about right.
I do however wash myself daily. Like Toht implied, I simply don't stink after being sweaty. I know some people who need to shower when they get home because they actually smell. I'm not one of them. My wife told me that I simply don't seem to suffer BO like other people, and she's got a sensitive nose.

I reckon it comes down to clothing. Polyester and artificial fibres tend to stink up far more quickly than cotton and natural fibres, and all my clothing is cotton where possible. Only my socks are polycotton.

Hold on now, Zenith said he "washes" daily. So he is not being unclean, there are other ways to stay clean than showering -my parents did not have a shower when they were young and washed daily with a flannel and a basin of hot water, it's not that uncommon. He is leading you on a bit, and you are all taking the bait. However with Zentih claiming he does wash everyday, he does not agree with toht's first post about people who do not keep clean being perceived to have no self-respect.

Yes, I have what used to be called "flannel baths" instead of a bathtub or shower. It's because unless I have a shower first thing in the morning, the water is cooler later in the day (overnight immersion heater), so instead of having a lukewarm/cold shower I'll have a washdown instead.

I can do 3 days without showering and not smell (that includes exercising etc) tested it out with a very blunt friend of mine (they snap at me for smelling of smoke, so) and it was fine. However, I try and make it a general rule to shower/bath at least once a day. :O
