I've got one that heals for 25 from the alchemist in Bruma. However healing spells dont really do it when you are fighting. You better get some potions for the tough fights so you dont have to stop blocking/attacking.
Depends on your fighting style however, Aran is a lev 12 wood elf suffering vampism and has 82-106 speed, i kite and pincushion them and if injured can cast heal to recover.
One of the last places i visited was a cave system full of will o wisps, trolls and minotaurs, couldnt fight the wisps so ended up sneaking as long as i could then when spotted sprinting.
got cornered in dead ends a few times and took soe hits but using the healing spells i can fix myself while on route.
Also make good use of pits and traps, was being chased by several nasiest and found a canyon so legged it and jumped over it, then turns and wiped out the ones following as they were unable to reach me.

Will O' wisps are a pain, when they get in melee range to you they start leeching your hp or something. Just have to kite them around and shoot/use magic on them. They also turn semi invisible when they move :(

Yeah, I play similar but if you have opponents with strong ranged attacks or movement restricting spells that doesnt work.
Just a question: You said you are a vampire too. Are you always 'fully charged' as in 100 vampirism so you get the full benefit?
I usaly try to keep it at 25 by drinking frequently so people don't recognize me as a Vampire right away and only 'charge up' by resting a day or 2 in my house before I go cave crawling.
Also, what happens if you dont drink for extended periods of time?

i didnt realise i had vampism until the 2nd dream and i started taking damage, then went looking for the cure but was having diferculty as getting more and more effected, didnt realise that drinking blood weakened it back to 25%.
Still looking for cure but will see how it goes, the night/life sight spell is very useful, havent really used the other stuff and i dont like being hurt by daylight, it can leave me in trouble if i have to leave somewhere fast and find the suns come up, also makes it very differcult in cities, so will be trying to stay on 25% as much as i can.

Oh another thing, if you find you have problems with armour getting worn out and unable to repair it, if you sign up as a pit fighter you can get a costume that covers several body parts and isnt too heavy, nice for a back up.
Also remember that items get less effective the more damaged they are so useful to have a spare.

Yeah, I always carry 2 bows. My main weapon is a silver bow I enchanted so it does 15 pt lightning dmg on hit. My backup bow is a fine steel bow wich is very light.
Armor is not much of a concern for me but I got a spare shield with me too.

About Vampirism: You keep the infravision spell no matter how much or little you are affected. The other abilities you will lose thou and the benefits to str/dex/spd are lower. Thats why I 'charge' by not drinking for a day or 2. And as a last thing, if you are looking for blood check the beggars. They are almost always sleeping at night so its a guaranteed snack. (You dont kill them so you can come back as often as you like.)

Oblivion is the best game I've ever played to be honest.

The graphics are amazing and the AI used in the game can't be compared to any other.

Great game.

The thing about this game, is it became painfully boring as you leveled up.
I enjoyed some of the side quests, and even did some of the main quest. But by the time I finished the mage guild quest, and half way through fighter guild quests, im level 25. Daedric armor and weapons is all over the freaking place, even though it's suppose to be some of the rarest items. I mean, I cant sneeze befor I got my inventory full of this "super rare" stuff.

It's just not fun anymore.

The quests i've done so far has been boring, straight forward, unimaginative and generaly poorly thoughtout. The combat is boring at best, the game it self is so open that you have to restrict yourself from exploting else you ruin the game completely.

"Ohhh! Feather 250 spell, lemme use that along with my feather 247, feather 249 and feather 248, gee I sure can carry loads!"

You can pick any skill as your main skill, it doesnt matter one bit which ones you chose. Hell, in some cases it's even better to NOT make your "main" skill your main skill, but rather secondary.

You want to be a pure mage? Forget about it, you wont ever come close to having the mana pool required to be half as effective as a fighter/archer.

Disapointing is the best I can come up with at the moment.

Gotta agree with that....the quests are fantastic. :)
If only the same ingenuity could have been used in Daoc quests. :(

Move mouse forward to push the spring, then click lmb....can take a while to get the timing right because the spring varies how long it stays up.
Hopefully it will stay up longer the more points you put in it. :)

really?

ok well when the lock window appears that displays the lock, pick and lock bars(the vertical goldy bars that make up the lock) the idea is to get all the bars to stay at the top, thus opening the lock. you do this by moving the lockpick under a free bar and nudging it upwards. when the spring bar hits the top you want to left click, that will secure it in place, once all bars are in the top position the lock will open.

the key to it is clicking at the right moment, if you watch the bars as you nudge them if they move slowly then your pretty much gonna get it into position if you click at the right time. if the bar moves up really fast when you nudge it, then there is less chance you will get it in position when you click resulting in you breaking a pick.

ofc there is also the auto pick option that will try and open the lock, and success % will be determined by your security skill and agility stat (or whatever is governing stat cant remember)

Or just click on auto-try or whatever the button at the bottom is labeled in the english version.

I've found that I tend to waste alot more lockpicks if I try to pick a lock manualy so with difficult locks I usaly use the automatic picking.

also you can empty bruma, take it house by house, start at around midnight and work your way around the town, should get the lot done in about 2 ingame nights, can make around 8000 gold, i started raiding the barracks, pretty tricky but you can make some money.

For lockpicking, the speed the shafts move up are the same they drop down with, so just push them up until they go slow and lock it.

And for assassinations:

When you victim stays close to a lot of Townguards or other fighters, chat the other guys up until they all like you. Then go to your victim, tell him in a more or less friendly way that you're there to kill him... step back and watch how all your new friends do your work ;)

For Bow users, if you shot something before it spotted you, you do 3x the damage with a bow, and if you hide far enough away in a dark corner or behind a rock, they most likely won't notice you at all.
Takes a bit of practice to volley them, but it works like a charm :)

became Grandmaster of the Arena without taking a scratch <cough>
though I doubt the spectators enjoyed those fights much ;)

If you suck at lockpicking....

Theres a Daedric shrine up the road from Leiawyn (sp?) that gives you, upon completion of the quest a lockpick that never breaks and has +40 security.

aye, lock levels in bruma seem alot lower - usually the prison cell gates are 'hard' level but at bruma they're on average. House and shop lock pick levels seem to range from easy to average, so as you said, you can pretty much empty the place in one night.

The best idea for shops is to take a key from the owner if you can find them while they're asleep, that way when you come back after the shops restock you can get in without having to pick a lock :)

If you shoot them in the back you will most likely get another stealth shot before they turn around and start looking for you.

Ok well i played this some.
I got out of the tunnel and went to the capital, I saw the mage guild thing a bit outside the city and went there to join, however the guy told me to go see someone else at a different mage guild, where are they?
Should I forget about the city until I get to know the game a bit better and just head on to the priory on the main quest?

That wasnt the mages guild. It was the university. You can enlist there after you have gotten approval from every mage guild leader in Cyrodil.

You can explore the cities, the dungeons and shrines... do what you like but make sure to train your offensive and defensive skills. The game can become very very hard if you level on passives and non-combat skills too much.

Depending on how you play quests will be triggered. So if you chose to become a criminal or even a murderer the thiefes guild or the dark brotherhood might approach you. If you are the Indiana Jones type people might as you to find artifacts for them and so on.

under game options there's a slider for difficulty in case something important becomes impossible to do.
Like chatting all day, stealing and sneaking ... but no clue what the point of a sword is ;)
