Not many rude words backwards make good names - took me ages to come up with that one. tnuc, kcuf, ssip etc dont work.

This sounds familiar. Like when they wanted to change the name of my necromancer Iordaeron, because it resembles Lordaeron whic is copyrighted by Blizzard i think. So i named it irenikus, and i actually got a small letter in the beginning of the name whic was kind of cool

My thid NS tosser lasted about 2 years, I hadn't played him for a while and noticed on the char screen his name had been changed to TSSR I didn't even get a crappy e-mail or anything.

i did once make a armsman called Wankybolloxbastard BastardWankyBollox , tho i didnt use him for more than a day lol . (Only time this game being made by americans actually helped) .

Tbh i think a lot of these names GoA dont find offensive at all, its probably some little whinging kid u killed in emain or something has said like

"OMGODZOR I GOT KILLED BY SOMEONE NOOOOO, OH LOOK, HE HAS A SPECIAL NAME ILL RIGHTNOW AND GET HIM DONE FOR IT MWHAHAHA I WIN. That kind of thing, i mean cmon, no-one can seriously take offense to Ninjaminge etc...

On the subject of names , i find the filter puzzling, i mean u cant make an assassin caleed Assassin cos it has Ass in it, fair enuf tho still stupid, but i tried making a mincer called Pause Button once... surname not allowed , because it had the word Butt in it (Only time this game being made by americans actually didnt help lol).

Imo, redefine the name game and let us use Ass b4 it gets too late and we all quit Daoc

Well my NS had his name changed by the GM because he saw me mention on these forums and thanked me and then changed it,

thats forgetting that char had 10 days played in thid with 400 kills and no one complained yet the GM saw fit to be a prick and change it for me.

I know the first person who had his name changed in this game.
It was about 2-3 years ago when Old frontiers still ran. I believe it was a Thane on excal. He was so pissed off that he made his last name "IWANTMYNAMEBACK" ... Tho I don't remember what his firstname was ... Some1 can help me?

There are some funny creative names out there. Terrorism could be seen to be borderline offensive I imagine, and all the blatent swearing is asking to be renamed unfortunately.
I saw "Wankmag" the other day which I got a screeny of as a souvenir of a funny name - I'll have to find the pic and post it.
The only names that I think are particularly offensive are illness ones where if you know someone who has Cancer / Parkinsons / Alzheimers - the last thing you want to see if some clever-dick thinking they are funny with that type of name.
I think with first and last names though, you can be quite creative without people catching on as opposed to when you have the name all in one bit.
I'm thinking of making a toon called Ride MeLikeAPony now :>
