Nirvana done well with the only talented member of the band being on drums. And I'm glad he's had more success after Cobain gave up.

Wasn't aware Nirvana's drummer was any good tbh; certainly wouldn't've known it from listen to Nirvana. Any tracks he's on (post-Nirvana) that I should look up?

edit: btw, I'd be interested to know your opinion of any Tool you download :p
Danny Carey, their drummer, is in my opinion the greatest non-jazz drummer ever. I can't offer any "qualified" judgement of the bass and guitar, but the drumming is awesome and the vocals are fantastic. just occured to me I should have also recommended "The Patient" :m00: .

Way too far for way too long,
Children crying,

Only in a [PART OF TEH TITLE] this [PART OF TEH TITLE],
Hold the hand of your best friend,
Look into their eyes then watch them drift away,
Some might say we've done the wrong things,

For way too long..."

Gotta edit it so it's not damn obvious :)
Mudvayne - World So Cold

My lyrics:

It is the [Insert the title]
To lose the child, the faith
To end all the innocence
To be someone like me
This is the birth of all hope
To have what I once had
This life unforgiven
It will end with a birth

Nightwish - End of Hope? Can't remember the exact title, was something like that. Don't like Nightwish anymore :p

The drummer is Dave Grohl LandShark. :p

Look up Foo Fighters, he is the lead singer and he also wrote all of the instrumental parts on their new album... and Queens of the Stone Age - Noone knows, he played the drums on this song too.

Thanks for that Eky, never realised, though I know who Dave Grohl is.

Lyrics:

Dust myself up
and I scream at the sky,
It's been so hard
but I can't let it die
Turn my head up,
looking at the stars
So many years,
I still wonder where you are?

Look at the sun, look at the sky,
another day, another sigh -
And every moment is precious....

Soulfly - Son Song

Le pire dans cette histoire c'est qu'on est des esclaves
Quelque part assassin, ici bien incapable
De regarder les arbres sans se sentir coupable
A moitié défroqués, 100 pour cent misérables

Mickey 3D - Respire

I googled it cos Munkey admitted to doing the same to my last :p

A cooling system
Burns out in the ukraine
Trees and umbrellas
Protect us from the new rain
Armies of engineers
To analyze the soil
The food we contemplate
The water that we boil

Paul Simon - Can't run but I can walk much faster (or something) :eek7:

When I cry for me I cry for you
with tears of holy joy
For all the days you've still to come
and did I ever say I'd never play
or fly towards the sun?
Maybe in the meantime something's missing.

We love the all the all of you
Our lands are green and skies are blue
Then all in all we're just like you
We love the all of you

In The Meantime
Space Hog

My lyrics

Is she really going out with him?

I got a feeling inside of me
It's kind of strange like a stormy sea
I don't know why I don't know why
I guess these things have got to be

The Damned (or Guns n Roses) - New Rose

When the dogs begin to smell her
Will she smell alone?
When the dogs do find her
Got time, time to wait for tomorrow.

Wouldn't call Zach delaRocha (sp?!) particularly talented. He can rap, certainly, but I don't see how HIS screaming is somehow more talented, melodious and musical than anyone else's? :uhoh:

edit2: oh btw I do actually like LP, RATM, MV a lot (can't stand AIC but nm :E) so believe me when I say I'm not putting them down. I just don't see how you can say what you did ;)

FO. De La Rochas talent does not lie in his vocal ability but his habit of writing absoluty superb, politic songs.

Firstly; I like RATM, apart from the last album which was a travesty , secondly, please take my post in context; I was replying to something specifically.
Oh, and the lyrics are sometimes, erm... like eye-catching, but for the mind ;) although they're not in the least bit subtle and it can get a bit wearing. Tom Morello made that band, not Zach.

Stone Temple Pilots - Plush

And lyrics:

Realize that I can never win
Sometimes I feel like I have failed
Inside where do I begin my mind is laughing at me
Tell me why am I to blame
On me
Both will be the same, that's why
I can never change this thing that's burning in me

Damn you, was about to answer Omni's :p

Anyhow... Korn - Did my Time.

found my resolve
to stick to my ground
to stand up and shout
but i just can't make a sound
caught by the man
you tripped out of line
you spoke out of turn
but you could not find the words

Only bad thing about this thread is that it's too easy...

Well, I've only googled on Munkey's french one, and that was in revenge. ^^
I'm deliberately not posting particularly obscure stuff in the hopes people will try and "play" without googling, but I guess that's a vain hope :p

Hell is for Heroes - Few Against Many

This 1 is for kr0n since this is "too easy" ;)

"The time is now,
Please tell me how,
Set ablaze...
Crying,
Remembering how it used to be,
Scarred for eternity,
Was it meant to be?
A life in harmony..."

I'm hoping that all the lyrics being posted here have been released and aren't just album tracks. There's no way I would know most peoples songs that have never had any radio play.

Actually I don't know where that's from, tho I looked it up and I do not, do NOT, like the band :)

Just Googled it and never heard of them.
From 1995 also and apparently according to a lyrics website it's 'hard & heavy'

[22:16] <Munkey> F.I.V.'s taste for "hardcore metal" is like mirieths addiction for "emotional hardcore rock"

Gah you're talking about me behind my back?!

I feel so loved :p

As far as In Flames go, dont diss them until you've listened to them, as their lead guitarist is possibly one of the best guitarists of our generation. If you need proof of his talents, listen to their instrumental track "Dialogue With The Stars", not to mention the actual lyric writing is pretty damn decent on the majority of the songs.
