Hope i answered your points though, i'll answer the last below;
As for the respect and cruelty aspect.. I don´t find it particulary disrespectful to pick up a dead fox and try to preserve it. I guess the intention behind it is the key. After all, the preserved body serves a purpose (being an object for studying etc).
I want to clear that i don't find it cruel to de-bone a fox, but when someone does a thing like this(for own pleasure it seems) it lessens my view on them and puts them, in my view, in a similar disrespectful/cruel lot.
I find the de-boning to be more disrespectful, as i said, because i personally find bones to be a bit..for lack of better word...sacred.
If EQ had taken the fox to stuff it for a display etc thing, not just to "put it in my collection of cool stuff", i wouldn't mind that much.
I do find that preserving a body for study etc, to honor it if you will, serves a purpose if not hunted for that particular purpose.
If we take the preservation of human body, they still stuffed the mummies in tombs, so it's not exactly the same.
