Why did you get it?

Insulting a member, it was the ..err...post about hamsters.

It shows your posts when I'm not logged in :(

Ah, then log in and stop pestering me :p

Hope i answered your points though, i'll answer the last below;

As for the respect and cruelty aspect.. I don´t find it particulary disrespectful to pick up a dead fox and try to preserve it. I guess the intention behind it is the key. After all, the preserved body serves a purpose (being an object for studying etc).

I want to clear that i don't find it cruel to de-bone a fox, but when someone does a thing like this(for own pleasure it seems) it lessens my view on them and puts them, in my view, in a similar disrespectful/cruel lot.

I find the de-boning to be more disrespectful, as i said, because i personally find bones to be a bit..for lack of better word...sacred.

If EQ had taken the fox to stuff it for a display etc thing, not just to "put it in my collection of cool stuff", i wouldn't mind that much.

I do find that preserving a body for study etc, to honor it if you will, serves a purpose if not hunted for that particular purpose.

If we take the preservation of human body, they still stuffed the mummies in tombs, so it's not exactly the same.

then i think a quiet calm down the pair of you would have been more adult than infaction seeing as it was hardly one sided

On Topic: i hate foxes and wish them extinct. I grew up on a farm and the amount of times foxes would come and try kill every single lamb during lambing was mad, was like playing Zombies on COD WaW

Well hopefully EQ doesn't take a long winded female problem out of it, i surely don't.

Can't promise i won't get aggressive if those things happen elsewhere, but i think this is done with.

Though Bugz throwing a negrep at me with; "ezteq is worth 500 of you, enjoy your infraction" makes me tihnk someone has a crush on someone :D

Toht so you do this IRL too? I rarely see a thread where you aren't taking the opposite view of other people simply, as I see it, just to argue the toss. Other people have said it on numerous occasions. If you don't like something, don't read the thread or post in it. You seem to have a pathalogical need to argue, it doesn't seem to make any difference what the subject matter is, you just like to disagree. I feel sorry for you in a way since it speaks of a dire lack of self esteem.

I didn't report you - I just agreed with the infraction as although you wasn't abusive, your tone was quite rude & demeaning and Ez never speaks in that way to anyone else.

I find it rather difficult to always draw an exact line between the "hey that´s cool" curiosity and scientifical interest. When I was a kid, I used to carve out fossiles of all kinds and my intentions were something in between. On one hand, I found collecting them cool, on the other hand, they also gave me a lot to learn from. *shrug*

Lenin has been mummified for the sole purpose of being watched by people. Bernadette of Lourdes has a glass coffin for exactly the same reason. And the egyptian mummies that were once buried are now being displayed in museums all over the world. I won´t even start about Gunther von Hagens. :)

Irritation limit really. Not the first time EQ has used that. Got tired of it and gave her back some.

People notice when i disagree. They don't when i agree. Has nothing to do with psycho babble you're spewing. IRL if i disagree with something, i say it, direct and without shame. Nothing to do with CHOOSING a side, it's an opinion.

I have a right to an opinion, unless you think everyone on FHOT agrees on everything? Are you seriously saying people can't post if they disagree with the OP?

I didn't report you - I just agreed with the infraction as although you wasn't abusive, your tone was quite rude & demeaning and Ez never speaks in that way to anyone else.

Didn't say you did. Though the rude&demeaning went both ways.

Now that the curious/flamers have been dealt with;

I find it rather difficult to always draw an exact line between the "hey that´s cool" curiosity and scientifical interest. Good examples on the mummies. There are cases for certain, but modern days i think..well, wouldn't go down well :D

About drawing a line, well, it's ofcourse personal. That's why i objected to EQs actions, i found it over personal lines.

Ok just for future reference I am employing the /ignore function here, I am not the one who has gone on and on and ON about a certain other person either arguing a point or justifying it or whatever. So the comments from here on in can we keep about any interest in the subject and just bury and NOT exhume this flipping sad sorry arsed state of affairs because it really is getting old.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ok now then about human preservation, there is a rather interesting chap called Jeremy Bentham who was (and still is actually) quite famous for being a great mind and prodigy, anyway he wanted himself perserved (read about it at the bottom of this page under auto icon UCL Bentham Project ) and also Wlat Disney himself is cryogenically (sp?) preserved lol incase they ever figure out a way to bring people back!

Lots of crazy rich people pay to have themselves cryogenically(gah sp?) preserved but if they don't have enough money they can just get their heads frozen and then if ever reanimation is possible can be grafted on to a donor body...even I wouldn't go for that lol

lol yes! with the heads in jars, and they feed them fish food lol; seriously though I mean without getting into the whole 'soul' debate it wouldn't be possible would it? I mean the brain dies after [insert figure here] number of minutes without oxygen so unless you lopped it off and reanimated it asap all you'd have is a live head...thats brain damaged.

big whoop if I want to see those I watch prime ministers question time.

maybe we should reingnite the campaign to get everyone to stick him on ignore... but then he'd probably just argue with himself and fill up the boards.

Yes i heard of your little club. Fancy that, i'm actually quite the evil mastermind that you need a treehouse community of superheroes

Ofcourse your posts are nothing to worry about, it's afterall a good few posts after the issue was declared over and yet..tadaa...the anti-group hops out to derail it again.

But hey, it's all on me right :D

he is!! snow white told me :(

she told a (snow) white lie hurhurhur

i must admit i love the idea of collecting bones as i have rather random collection of weird stuff myself, no bones yet but some random hats, a couple of bowling pins, two one armed headless mannequinns, a "how to learn english" book for czech speakers (i dont speak czech) and assorted other stuff :p

also i would LOVE a skeleton of a fox, and i think it would be even better to do it yourself cos then everytime you look at it you think "that was dead and rotting in a road somewhere a while back look at that beautiful ol' fox now"

lol to be fair it wasn't rotting when I got it it was a bit stiff. i do have some standards...

though the funniest thing was there was a homeless guy sat next to it rolling a fag out of street dog ends and when he saw me bagging the fox he moved away lol

though a word of warning! it can go from being eccentric to creepy very easily! a friend of mines dad used to do it as a hobby (he stopped cos everyone in the town kept showing up on his doorstep with roadkill) and has a room full of a dead stuffed animals and animal heads (when that was all he could salvage) now imagine this... after a heavy night out you go back to this room and fall asleep without thinking about where you are or seeing much... then you wake up in the morning and several badgers, foxes a deer and a couple of stoats are staring at you! freaked me out anyhow :p

ps i want to see pics of how you did it, how would you attach the bones? with wires or plaster or something? :p
