• VultureGirl (and MANY, MANY more aliases for WOW/DAOC Gold advertising)
• WhiteAmerica (obvious, racism)
• WhiteraceAwaken (obvious, racism)
• Brite (repeated direct personal attacks)

etc, etc, the list goes on.

If you think racism, personal attacks, death threats and posting porn on a forum that kids read is acceptable, especially on a gaming forum...yes, a game (i.e. suggests fun), I seriously suggest you have a long hard think.

You even get chances on FH. A personal attack (depending on the severity) usually gives you a warning. A warning is non-visible to other FH users, it simply marks your account for the mods to keep an eye on you. Most sensible people would consider this warning, think about their actions and stop with the insults etc. Some don't, get several warnings and then temporarily banned. The even more idiotic will come back from their ban and carry on where they left off. At the end of the day, this is not to be tolerated.

Anyone posting threats or direct abuse towards other people will be banned. It's that simple. If anyone has a problem with this, well, they know what they can do.

Not sure if it's the heat or something else, but I have a feeling we're all a bit more grumpy than usual here at FH. We whine about realms, players, classes, abilities - even taking it to personal insults and verbal attacks.

Yesterday I paid a visit to https://forums.freddyshouse.com/forumdisplay.php?f=301 for the first time ever; I didn't know it existed until then. I spent quite some time reading the posts there (work is really slow atm...) and even downloaded the movie from Gamblor's memorial event.

If you haven't done it already, I suggest you take a look at the posts and keep them in mind the next time you are having an argument with somebody on FH.

There's nothing wrong with arguments (the community would be pretty darn boring without them) but they don't have to be so bloody personal. We're all human beings, and no matter if we play Albion, Hibernia or Midgard we're just trying to enjoy ourselves in a bunch of binary digits.

So, instead of creating the next FH whine,take a step back, take a deep breath and remember that there's a lot more important things in life.

I actually agree with what Loonatik says. others have voiced other opinions, and that's fine. However, I don't think there's anything wrong with Loonatik pointing out that we can sometimes take things (said/done ingame or on these boards) too seriously...a bit of perspective is all that is being called for.

Should show warnings in public imo so everyone can see how fair the mods are when they are handing them out. That ofc wont happen, but it would be interesting if it did.

Exactly...you have been giving your "opinion" on matters without lowering yourself to personal attacks and insults...nothing wrong there.

Mods can give whatever % warning they like. Don't forget, a warning is simply that...a "shock" designed to say...carry on and you're out. People even complain about 10% warnings...they're simply notes and bumps to get people to play nice.

Someone who should know better or has had a similar warning before will usually get a larger warning than a first-timer, depends on what they say/do and how they react.

End of the day, if we want someone off the forums completely, we can do it without argument...so don't forget, next time you find yourself with a warning...that mod is actually being more lenient than they could be.

I would love to call people adding scum sometimes. I don't play much anymore and I wish I had the energy to care enough about adds, but I don't anymore. Still, if you play with complete disrespect to the other two realms you can expect abuse if you stick your head out in a community for all realms. I don't hold grudges towards anyone irl, but expression opinion about someone playstyle on FH should be allowed tbh. Flame or not.

I never wanted such a forum. Can't find the most recent poll about the subject but afaik it was a pretty small majority that actually wanted a separate board.

This is the only grats forum poll I can find, and it's pretty much 50/50...read what you like into that.

Censi was banned as his warning topped 100%. He's now had a few temporary bans from personal attacks and abusive flaming. Hopefully, he'll come back from this temporary ban (it's already expired) and continue to post without the abuse...if not, well no doubt Jupitus will have grown tired of him by then.

And I do agree, he does post useful and meaningful things - many of the "hardcore" players do...but far too often, with addiction comes frustration and hatred towards other people...and like many others he lets himself down by being abusive on occasion. If we get complaints, it means people are offended...and that's what triggers a warning; like it or not I'm afraid

I heard so many testimonies since the dawn of daoc about what he is capable of. Involving personal attacks..banning people in his own realms cause he doesnt like them etc etc..list goes on.
