can you not admit that basically you want me banned

If I "wanted you banned" I would ban you (and trust me, other mods wouldn't argue).

I DON'T want you or anyone banned. That's the point. I would prefer people treat each other with respect and not with abusive, petty insults.

Not going to go off topic on this and go into it here; this is a thread about general attitude on the forums - don't wish to go into individual cases in public.

Correct. I voted against the forum in the poll, but as the majority wanted one, I went with that majority and suggested one put in place.

what majority? how do you know it's a majority if there hasn't been an accurate poll?

You don't. You can't accurately assess a majority unless you had every single person vote in non-biased situations.

However, at the time, the demand for an RVR forum seemed high - personally I considered the majority of those who voted (the ones who were bothered to do so) wanted a forum.

Don't forget, I don't create forums or have any particular say in which are opened; the higher powers considered the forum to be a benefit to the majority.

lol vodka..are you hoping to expose eggy to the mob on freddys house:p?
Whats with all this mod debate:)? Are you never gonna let go hehe?
I know its anoying when you get a decision against something you "like".
But when its fruitless and its leading nowhere to argue about it, why bother? Is it that important to you?

Personally its good to see more posters take a more relaxed and friendly style of posting - you'd be surprised how many people appreciate it :)

well i think its strange that he doesn't want the new board himself yet he does push for one based on a one year old poll about another topic, with such a small margin it's not really enough to base anything on. should have been a new topic at the time to make a final descision, imo.

and eb, i have all rights to disagree with the moderating on fh just as much as you have all rights to act like a moral cowboy jumping on anyone who is the least bit disrespectful to another human being. people are bound to dislike eachother, especially in a game like this.

I don't dislike anyone in the game, because that's purely what it is - a game. It's not real life and the mixture of hormones and addiction to an online world bring out the worst in people.

I'm just lucky to be in a guild of players and friends (yes, we're "real life" friends now:)) who have a great time together and enjoy every minute, without forgetting the importance of our friends and families outside of the box.

/salute to anyone else with the same stance to this game :)

i didnt say you didnt have the rights vodka:)
i asked you why you bother? And why its so sensitive for you.
And yeh i dont like people being nasty to others, is that something wrong?
You would see i couldnt care less if people like censi insulted noaim though,
its when people doesnt deserve shit i react.

Also i still ask you and others why you cant have a discussion like you would in rl?
If ANYONE here say they have some of the discussions i seen here, with a person they never met over a game in rl, they lie.
So why is that? Why act differently here:)? Why not have a heated discussion about the game as you would discuss it in rl?

why do you asume there is a difference with rl at all? do you stalk everyone that makes posts here?

online i couldn't wish for more or better friends then i have right now, respect a lot of people and they know it. does this mean i'm not allowed to dislike someone for being completely disrespectful ingame? regular adds or zergs, fine, but if someone intentionally griefs me then yeah if i have the opportunity ill calling him a useless ****.

same thing irl, i treat everyone nice when i meet them and always try to asume the best in them, but if they don't do what they are supposed to do i will have a "heated discussion" with them, just like here.

the difference here is your having heated discussions with people who are not even supposed to be part of the discussions. They are supposed to be moderating discussions.

the mods have too strong opinions (and to be fair to eggy and flim and tears and all that) those opinions are good, they are not idiots or anything. but they just have way too strong opinions on whats right and whats wrong, who they like and who they dont like, what you should and shouldnt say, whats right and whats wrong from a daoc perspective.

ideally the best mods would be people who dont play daoc. dont know what hibernia, albion or midgard is. If you apply for a mod position you should be posted on a section of the forum you dont have a vested interest in. IE DAOC players should go mod like final fantasy forum etc. this way you dont interfere with the content of the post because you dont have knowledge and therefore an opinion on it. you purly just keep things clean and cut out profanity and personal attacks etc. and also you dont get people applying for personal reasons (ie Im not respected in game for whatever reason, but you damn well WILL respect me on these boards you little maggot /ban!)

its simple tbh, irl a smack in the face often offends :)

reminds me of when i was at school, you had some gobshite bully when he had the protection of his 'possie' around him used to give me shit all day, saw him with his mum in the supermarket and butter wouldnt melt in his mouth. The sence of virtual protection and more so 'distance' gives internet bullies their needed 'boost' that allows them to act like wankers.

Mind u tbh i dont see much of that on here. I've only ever seen one really 'nasty' person post, fortunatly they dont post very often (such bile filled hate) the rest is as its already been said born of frustration and 20 sec anger that you soon get over.

You see the difference is that the things you are upset about is over game vodka..
You just cant go around that. like eggy said i have a hard time disliking anyone in game for how the play. I can understand however that you wanna discuss it with others..heated or not.
But you lie if you say people( the ones that are banned for example) discuss here as they do in rl. Period. if they do its a fistfight allready.

And hell yeh...if i play a game with people i dont know and they start a heated discussion( in rl) saying some of my friends in rl can go die or fuck themselfs or that they are retards, i would do more then stalk them^^
But so far i havent seen anything of that, and you kno why?
Cause people dont act like that in rl.
feels kinda stupid even having to say that, as im sure you know its true also^^
You and me discuss now like two adults. Thats fine isnt it? Would you have any respect for me if i started to throw in a bit of verbal insults?
Or would you rather that i kept this level of discusion?
eb.

Rugby education from the age of 6 :). Hmm what happened to 'charactor building', don't see much of it these days.

Fortuantly i didnt get bullied at school, one of the benefits of being the "biggest in class" but alot of my friends were bullied so i can spot that sort of behaviour from a mile of and completely dispise it.

eb.

That's completely irrelevant because there has to be a reason why you would insult someone. You don't think ingame actions are valid reasons for flames or insults, but in some cases I do. That's where our opinion differs.

I think it's funny you are pushing so hard on the fact you should treat people online with as much respect as you would if they were irl, yet you feel that what happens in daoc doesn't matter at all. If someone griefs the fuck out of people with the sole purpose to piss them off, I think they are ***** and sometimes I will express my opinion.

You won't see me make a flamethread about someone, don't think I ever did the past 4 years I spammed these boards, but I see no difference between respect in daoc, on fh or irl. Because it goes through a wire doesn't mean the people or emotions aren't real. Act like scum, get treated like scum; act nice and get treated nice.

yes I think the whole forum knows you are a big guy chuck. You have told us like 500 times.

FYI theres a difference between big and fat :touch:

Anti ban disclaimer: not saying you are either though (except "big" in my first statement which is a compliment and an adjective you have already used to describe yourself. Just in case eggy argues calling someone big irl is a personal attack :) )

Thanks for the link to that other thread Censi - enjoyed reading that, and having done so I'm pretty darn sure that Ging has sufficient sense of humour to laugh at your 'fat vs big' comments :drink:
