Sorry, I wasn't suggesting that he should be banned from the lotto. Just that he would do more to recover his reputation by not taking part. I think if he decided to return the item he would be happy to never see it again.
AND once again it is not about punishing him...it is about letting everybody know.
The fact that something bad is done is little compared to the fact that something bad has been suffered by others and that their trust has been abused.

Trust must remain an element of the game otherwise we will have no raids.

DAoC is not the same as RL, in RL peace for the guilty is a noble cause in an MMORPG if you are not willing to play well with others then you should not play at all, these games are about being together with many others and having fun....not about collecting the best intangible possesions for yourself.

m8, i should have posted that diffrently, only part of it was aimed at u , not the let the fucker drop bit, that was to every 1 else, because this has got out of hand,


but still, even if he did give it back, do u think ppl would trust him? i know i doubt they will, once some1 loses the trust, its hard to get it back, so i doubt he will be very willing to do anything about it, because it would just take too long.

Some people would still hold a grudge, but many people need no reason to harbour hatred and these people trouble all of us.

But a great many would feel that everything could be forgoten with a simple appollogy, the return of the item is not required by the poeple from who it was taken, but would be strongly sybolic that the players of the game are more important to him.

Such a gesture would draw people to forgiveness and although it would spread slowly it would be powerful enough to sustain it's self.

Thats lame keeping the drop like that Havent read the whole thread but some people seem to blame CF for this... CF is a nice guild and have showed they dont like this kinda stuff by kicking him, so dont blame CF.

aye...I agree with Alkoran. If Toy really returns the item and maybe says something like "I am sorry..I dunno what got into me..I was drunk ...wont happen again" I am certain that most people will overlook this "incident".

Yes, you are right..I have to confess that atm I and most of the others have blacklisted him cause the screenies we all saw here really weigh hard as proof. But nevertheless.....if he has a good excuse for this behaviour and the majority here was wrong I'll sincerely apologize to him - but atm it does not really look that way. If his only exuse is something like "..because I have it" then all these reproaches(that the right word?) against him are well placed and justified.

I've settled disputes over item stealing before, my solution to restoring your character is simple, return the item to the raid leader, apologise, lotto.

I've found most people more than willing to allow an offender to lotto as well and it's saved me from kicking somone from guild more than once, which so far I have never done.

It's fair that when no solution can be found that people know about it, maybe not in such a blatantly public way perhaps but still, people can easily appear nice on the surface but the true character shines through when there is a conflict of interest, lottos are a fair way of resolving that conflict, ignoring it (as seems to be the case hearing from those who were interested in the LW and didn't get a chance at it) is no huge crime in itself but walking off with the item is.

Whining about "unfair" lottos is one thing, stealing something that you would have never gained without the hard work of others is a kick in the teeth and shouldn't be tolerated.

At least if TM had returned the item and lottoed it, possibly winning it in the process then the only blemish on his reputation would be with those he offended, the rest of us would probably know nothing of it and treat him no differently.

It'll blow over in time for most of us though, most of us gained or lost anything by this so we simply offer our opinions now then go have a coke and think about lvling our next toon to 50

he has only been kicked out of 2 total, he was never "kicked" from boh, he /gc quit, me and lary allready talked about this , if he didnt /gc quit, he would of been asked to leave, but he didnt get kicked,
