The graphics are poor, the animations arent great. Daoc in SI client looks way better imo.

Loving the beta... mmm loving what? Exping and pvp is the same as making any level 1 in daoc to a level 2... F8 F6..... woot. Boring as hell. Lame as hell. NOTHING WORTH DOING. Gets repetetive. laaaaaaa skill-less pvp system etc

Public US release is dated as 25/06/03. It was 06/06/03 until last month, when it was pushed back at the end of may. They just wrote on the web site that there is another week of beta testing to see if they can fix some major issues. Which would suggest, even it they do. They will need another week to do comprehensive testing. So that pushes the date to 20/06/03. Then press discs & distrubute, so would just make in time for the 25th if your lucky. Then you're looking at an estimated 200,000 signups in the first week, and sony have already said the servers have no chance of holding the pre-order population in the US. I personally can not see it getting to the UK before October now, and will almost certainly suffer from population problems also. So probably looking at november by the time it gets even slightly playable. By this time we're 2 months off another engine enhancement of DaOC. I think the turning point for both games will be if the RvR expansion is worth it. If this gives us some really nice stuff, then people will hold on DaOC for another 6 months. At which point your looking at Mythics new http://www.imperatoronline.com/ . I wont even go into WoW, since when has anything Blizzard done, been close to a release date, when the first date is anounced. I mean i was waiting for over 2 years for Diablo 2.

It looks pretty good but all hype is getting ppl's hope's up and it I dont think it will do to well.

The interface and skilling options look gay and stupid.

WoW looks like a cartoon, rubbish. its graphics dont come close to SWG, i've seen videos of SWG and cant tell if its real or not.. so good. WoW doesnt really appeal to me tbh, u cant be teh jedi!!11one

Er, I've seen videos of SWG and if you can't tell the difference between that and reality, you need to get your eyes checked. And if you think that kind of exaggeration is justified you need to get your brain checked, it looks barely better than SI.... WoW looks cartoony but the animations in SWG just look like they're trying to be realistic instead of cartoony, and failing miserably. Face it, there is absolutely nothing special about SWG's graphics.

In all seriousness, it wont be a bad game. It cant be a bad game as that have such a huge budget, they will make it a good game. However I play MMORPG's for the community aswell as the gameplay, and i think its safe to say that the community attracted by SWG will not be of the same quality as that in other games.

first off: the graphics in swg and wow is so different that they can't really be compared. sure i can pull out alot of screenshots where wow doesn't show it's best gfx side and i can do the same with swg. difference is however, i have seen swg in action and therefore i say 'it's the best looking mmorpg i have ever seen both graphic and animation wise'. a screenshot doesn't really show that much about how a game is really gonna look, perform and feel.

old.ST200: things i'm loving about the beta? when my character is fresh out i can actually DO stuff except hitting lame ass rats in some newbie forest. i won't elaborate too much since the NDA is still in effect. all i'm saying is i'm loving it, if you didn't too bad.

Erm, no? Not only when you start fresh are you limited as far as combat and missions go, it's more of the same when you actually advance. As a whole there is nothing to keep people playing SWG. It's probably more repetetive than daoc even...

It sucks big time....

It is fun for the first week and then you got bored because SWG has no purpose...

You pick a profession and that is it.

Boring like hell

No community feeling either, i asked tons of things, nobody answers. Groups don't exist etc etc

Believe me, i haven't played the beta for a week now and started an alt with daoc again, much more fun...

It is a big disapointment tbh

And they wont release it at 25/06, it is still as buggy as hell.
Like u need to do quests 2 X times before they work etc etc

well seeing how the entire concept of mmorpgs is doomed to be repetitive i found swg alot less repetitive than daoc, you didn't. difference of opinion.

Actually, nm, warlocks wouldnt really go with night elves. Human it is then, until something cooler comes along. Orcs and Taurans and such just dont appeal really :rolleyes:
