SWG disaster?

Any1 more heard the rumours about a massive cancel of SWG subscriptions???
I also read that SOE/Verant anounced that characters will be only stored for 5 days after the canceling of a subscription..... Lame strategy to stop ppl from leaving the game till it improves.

I gave SWG a try and got bored after 1 week. The PvE was pretty well thought, but...

- PvP SUX big time
- Lag n FPS drop in cities (where 75% of the SWG action happens) is hilarious (i got Pings of 1800 n 5FPS with a 2000+ AMD, 768 DDR n Gforce ti4600 on 512kb DSL)
- gazillions of Creature Handlers with 3 rancor pets roaming everywhere
- the bugged system of cover/overt factions allowing the pk'ers to camp cities happily
- servers going down again n again
- the general boredom after hours of PvE

The game is officially fucked, they pushed it out early while it was only 70% (? Maybe less) complete and now they are paying for it. The idea about 5 days and you lose your char is blackmailing, I would cancel my subs straight away if I heard that and I was playing the game.

WOW looks impressive graphically, the teamplay and PvP aspect looks as if it might be a bit crap though

well i was one of the 1st in the uk to play SWG and well i can say after a week or so playing i got really bored of the endless boring go kill a rat hole missions they sucked the fps sucked in citys and i really hated it when it draws the scenery as you move along ie grass and trees just appears out of no where

You didnt even do anything you did a few missions got bored, tamed a few creatures got bored, used the mask scent exploit, got bored, you did the DAoC equilvent of getting to lvl5 fps is fine, gfx were excellent, no offense but are you playing on a spectrum

SWG piss's all over DAoC from a large height, if your a FPS diehard fan it might not be you kind of game though.

The game is player based, it has a player run econamy making it the most realistic to date, if you sit in the middle of a town and expect fun to walk up and smack you in the mouth then you wont like it. the fun is there its just what you make of it.

the open-endedness scares a lot of people. they just dont know where to start or what to do, they dont have a nice little guide that says xp to lvl50 then go kill albs.
