I'm from the UK and pro Euro. The mistake we have made is not being the major driving force in the European Union because of stupid old prejudices and letting the French and the Germans lead the way.

I have no affinity towards the pound, it's just a means to purchase goods, but I do have an affinity to being British/English. I'm all for losing the Queen's head from our currency as I'm a Republican.

In all countries who don't have the Euro over time, most businesses will take the Euro as currency because of simple Economics. So the Euro will get in by the back door anyway.

You never know, the British may even come to forgive the French for causing us the most hassle with wars and whatnot thru out history :D

The mistake pro people tend to make is getting the delusional idea that we would, without doubt, be able to sit in the driving seat if were joined the Euro.

Thats not what I'm saying. We should have been in from the very start of all this so we could have been in the driving seat, but even though now we wouldn't it would be a huge mistake not to join the Euro long term.

We run the risk of isolating ourselves and that can only be bad in the long run.

I don´t like frontiers or barriers, so im pretty happy of being part of the European Union. Really dont mind if some countries don´t want to join us, and welcome Estonia if they vote yes :p.

Correct me if I'm wrong , but if we fully intergrate, is that the end of customs and beer/fag rund to France, will all taxes be the same all over Europe, will hard core porn be allowed in the UK?
What about speed limits, age of consent, Europe wide dole handouts?
Did you know we all have to physically hand over our gold reserves to the Germans.
They are on a mission to make a European supersate, they make no bones about it.
This will NEVER EVER EVER work, it barely works in America and they started from scratch with very similair cultures.
It is doomed to cause strikes, unrest even more wars, it will split us apart once the real bickering begins.
It's a lovely idea, but so was chocolate flavoured crisps.

Oh and Keogh, I disagree bout old Queenie, anyone who want's rid off her just doesn't realise how the world works, any dimwit could look at her sat there on the throne with all that money and shout, fook her off what a waste!!!
But her job and her place in the world is one of Britains greatest assets, she makes hundres of times more money for this country than she costs, how many ordinary people could say that about their job?
All that pomp and ceromony and snobbishness is part and parcle of the package, OK it's just a big show, but how many people come out to visit the King of Denmark when he tours the world?

Wake up , EU is already the first economic power in the world ...
(add the GDP of each EU member (25) and look at the US GDP)
