Imagine, you would be able to play any main support char:
-healer
-cleric
-druid
with level 50 and a lot of RP's what would you choose and play?
why?

myself, I prefer a cleric: PB mezz, smite, AE smite, PB smite etc.

but j00?

Healers. The CC on Healers is about 1000000000000trillion times more valuable to your realm thanany amount of smite.

Healer hands down.
AE stun & 3 SMs do wonders.

Hehe tested it with my lil kobbie - we were dropping purple to us skellies in muspel ( level 20ish party) in no time - it barely had to squeak once and then fell dead :)

Hehehe,

Guess none of you have grouped with Cindis Cleric, pre-smite nerf when I was grouped with her she would go AE smite the megalith wights room in barrows, 5-6 would come along and precede to bash on us, xp was nice, but if I remember rightly, we did have a few wipe outs. Still was alot of fun at the time ;)

take a body/spirit cabalist to mega's, send down pets, start working.

1 such cabba can clear the room fairly quickly, and without danger.

Healer, allthough "getting" a lvl 50 healer won't get you anywhere since a healer with no skill = waste of space in the group.

Whereas dr00ds and clerics are just main healers, the healer class is main healer as well as main CC which makes his task quite a bit harder

Well, seeing as Shaman wasn't included I'll go for a Druid.

I mean, they get grey-con pets

Healer!

Cleric seems pretty dull after the nerf. Its a nuker, i never tried to play one but gimped nuker that also has to try and keep ppl alive.. nah.
Druid would be interresting to play, pets to annoy casters with and baseline 10dps dmgadd and an aeinstacc with radius 350 at spec lvl 36 :eek6: (only root but still damn big radius). Would still miss messing i think :)

Just one thing: why do Cleric get better single-target instaheal than druid and healer!?

.. cos we're a gimped nuking class that's gotta try keeping people alive.

Druid, coz they're more interesting to play.
After that, a healer coz they're more interesting than a Cleric.

either healer or druid, healer because having that much cc rocks and druid because DoT and pets are fun :) plus insta root and insta ae root would be nice. A druid could have 6 "get out of jail free cards" if specced properly.... 2 insta heals,2 insta root and 2 purges, pretty nice for duels :)

After much consideration I finally respecced from 24Enh 33Rej 35Smite (gimped spec I suppose but always saw myself as all-round :p ) to 40Enh 36Rej 4(or 5)Smite. And now I'm starting to apreciate my Cleric again, as professional healer with good buffs. At least I have a peace of mind not having to struggle with the urge to Smite and can fully concentrate on the group and heal at my best.

Before re-spec I tried to Smite occationally when I got a chance but it was too weak to make much difference but helped out to finish of someone when needed. Otherwise I always saw myself as Healer primerily. With the PBAoE mezz as it was I often managed to halt 3-5 tanks in their tracks quite often, even though it wore out after 20 sec or so, but at least helped a caster get one or two blasts off before death. This is not possible any longer as I have to think twice before using it for my own safety.

Now, with 36 rejuve I have a very nice group heal that actually makes a difference. Healing is quite fun again as I actualy feel my heals are doing a BIG difference, as before they just managed keep half the group alive a bit longer.

But still, if I got to choose - I'd probably choose a Healer as they seem quite balanced (as a cleric used to be) and you can have a very good all round char "multi-tasking" :p Would like to be able to Mezz, and then swap over to healing. Now I'm just buffing up .... scirmish .... heal, heal, heal, Rez, buff. Sounds boring but I take pride from it when I do it good :D

Cheers,
Padre

They dont...

Bjodala is a fully Mending trained Healer, with a bit of Pacification and some Augmentation. Both her instant healing spells (single- and group- target) are 100% heals.

Along with her top castable heal spell, which has a base heal of 858 ( with Mastery of Healing 1 and 50 spec ) .... with Wild Healing 2 ( 10% chance to critical heal ), she is quite a formidable Healer who actually heals.

It might look as if the Cleric has a better instant because of all the Pacification trained Healers in Midgard. Im not denigrading them, they perform a useful and needed role...but their heals just arent up to scratch <grins>

Ta, Bjodala.

Well Ajeroth, there is a question i wanted allways ask - why to spec to have 100% heals? From my point of view - 75% is enough to keep someone or group alive, followed by heal or groupheal, no?

Or maybe it's just my opinion as Hibbie, since in hibernia it's still not so uncommon to have two or more healers in group (Warden/druid/bard) So there is allways someone who can do some healing while druid is trying to survive aggro he got from insta group heal :D

It's because Bjodala is a peacenik, wearing beads in her hair, dressed in pink. She can't stand the suffering. *grins at Bjodala*

<growls at Ayam>

Its precisely because there arent particularly many Healers around in Midgard, and the ones I meet are quite frequently Pacification trained..meaning their heals suck ( no offense, I love your purity spells <grins> ).

And yes, I do enjoy healing and keeping a group alive rather than being able to mesmerise anything in sight. If that makes me a 'peacenik' then so be it, Mr Grump. As for braids in my hair, thats a good thought. Any Hibernian want to craft me some beads to wear in my hair?

Plus, as you know with a Healing type, when something goes badly wrong, and the group you are with end up fighting far too much and health is dropping left right and centre....the only thing available to most Healers is the group heal (power intensive) or group instant, or they vainly try and keep up with fast heals that dont heal for much. Whereas I can just use my 2 second impressive heal spell which will do more than their group instant.... and keep on doing it. (with Magic Crystal Lore, serenity and admittedly a purity spell from a pacification healer).

I keep people alive (unless Im mesmerised, sorry Kipu) and that is my job. I have no wish to stand toe-to-toe and fight things, that is for the rest of the group to do. <grins at Ayam, the Warrior-Healer>

Heres a question for other healing types. Perfect recovery, the realm ability. Its described as bringing yourself back from resurrection with no penalties whatsoever, but Im hearing from others that in fact it affects your resurrection spell and brings the target back with no penalties..once every 30 minutes. Is this true?

Only another reason I have trained so highly in Mending is to have a Resurrection spell which will bring the fallen back with full health and half mana. Resurrection-sickness is theirs to cure, with purge or simply waiting.

And the last reason I trained in Mending is that I didnt want to be the same as every other Healer out there (although there arent that many) with huge pacification and not a lot else. I like being different.

And the final sentence - its not pink, its lilac.

Regards,
Bjodala, Ascended Healer, Nyd.

it's not a self-ress...

it's a once every 30m perfect ress (cast on someone else).

Costs no power, not sure if it has any casting time - and it brings them back at 100%, no sickness, full mana etc.

All I can advice RA wise, is that if you as a Cleric have Enhance specced as 35+ get Lifter 1 and carry a ram on your own (self buffed of course).

I only have Str+26 or something from Items and with lvl50 base str buff + lvl35 Enhance Str/Con buff I can carry a full ram + two Portal necklaces and a bounty-point stone with enc 278/278.

It's very handy at those times a spare Ram is needed. And it only costs one RA point. Even if you don't have Enh specced up to 35+ you would probably be able to do it with Lifter 2, another 3 RA points though.

But the more rams around the better for the times you need them.

Cheers,
Padre
