It's the need to send someone back, it doesnt really work out. The timeline where they send the Terminator back is obviously the unsuccessful one.

The bit where Arnie's chip is discovered is cut out of the final film. The factory is not show as the Cyberdyne factory. I think this relates to what you said but i'm confuzzled.

The hacker guy hacks the Destiny h.q to power down the superweapon....why would the Destiny h.q be connected to the internet? it'ld just be a h00ge security risk
