Is it true that he's been beaten up or did I just dream that? :twak:

Well the allegation was that it was his wife that beat him up and the allegation was made by his nurse. I think i'm right in saying that his wife is one of his ex-nurses anyway..

It's developing into a court battle. Though Hawking and his wife have issued a statement saying that the stories in the media are false, his ex-wife and family are consulting their lawyers.
I personally do not believe the allegations, not that I know anything more than anyone else, I just find it unlikely.

Sounds unlikely he has been beaten up as he is telling the media to leave him alone and that he is perfectly happy.

Maybe someone replaced him with a Speak and Spell machine.

"Now Mr. Hawking can you explain to the students your theory on the Big Bang again?"

"Well done...now spell cat."
