Ok, I get an Direct X file missing on boot, but that's probably because it's installed for 32 bit windows and not 64bit xp.

I'm downloading the DX9 file from Microsofts website atm, so I'll be back in 10 mins or so, to see if there's any difference.

edit, make that 2minutes. It's installing fine without telling me that I can't update so far.

I used this link: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...38-DB71-4C1B-BC6A-9B6652CD92A3&displayLang=en

edit again: It seems to boot just fine after installing this, don't even need a restart it seems.

Looking about it seems like it's pretty normal for people to have to install DX9 for Vista, and the link I provided seems to work fine, tho you need to validate but hopefully that won't be a problem.

I kinda like it so far, "rerolled" a few times tho but think im sticking to my peace loving moose gryphons for now, my older sharkdragons were kinda war hungry and that ended up kicking me in the ass - apparently some nearby aliens had observed my actions during tribal & civ phase and decided that I was not to be trusted, and wiped out.

Terraforming planets is also alot of fun, and trying to establish ecosystems is hard, and very easy at the same time.

Another one of the cool features is running about in Creature Phase then encountering wild Moonkins, or robots, or "Charles Darwins" or this:

What really does annoy me however, is the constant pirateraids - you'd figure with turrets on every city they could handle it themselves, but apparently not.

Oh and I must mention that I loved every stage so far except Civ stage, it lost the touch with your own creation which imo is the very core mechanic of the game, I also disliked that evolution stopped after Creature Phase, kinda sucked after I spent extra time unlocking all parts :(

Meh terraforming is so so :p just gotta make sure you've got all the goodies to get that little dot moving into the right tier's :p as for dumping plants and animals on the planets I hate it... mainly because I kept killing the animals by accident *cough* 1 more badge and i'm maxed out now.

I kinda realised that the atmosphere reactors and stuff are quite nice weapons, I dropped 3 of them on my enemies main planet and they all died heh.

Ah turns out i didn't know that you couldn't have both DX9/10 installed at the same time.

Well i honestly don't know what to do anymore i have tried setting my desktop rez to lowest of the low.

3870X2 drivers 8.7 8.6 8.5

Seems i have a paper weight.

First game i have actually bought for the PC that i cannot get to work at all ;/

Thats quite odd, seeing as how Vista ships with DX10 and I could install DX9 just fine.
