You couldn't just take the whole keyboard off? Usually laptops have removeable keyboards so if your laptop wasn't running while you spilt the coke you are ok (just buy new keyboard) - if it was running there might be a problem (although you would have seen it going "kaboom"Spilt drink (coke) on my laptop Is it fucked? i've taken all the keys off and dried it with a hair dryer, going to leave it to dry over night, is it totally fucked or can i stick it in a shop to get repaired?
Tried to turn it on today everything started up (harddrive etc..) then it just shuts down again, i have a feeling that this may be due to the keyboard being knackered and several keys "pressing" themselves due to coke being spilt on them. (i.e the F keys preventing start up) if this is the case do you think it's worth taking it to a shop and asking them to disconnect the keyboard and try to start it up with an external one?
