Most of my driving is on the motorway, where accidents are unlikely. Why should I subsidise people who drive in rush hour urban traffic? Or should we all pay to support Comrade Mystic G?
Oh look, a facetious reply. You're not subsidising people who "drive in rush hour traffic" so don't talk shit. If you pay for your car, insurance & fuel drive where and when the hell you like, just like everyone else should be able to. You want to volunteer for the queue where you could face additional unnecessary sanctions being placed on your existence, so be it, but don't drag everyone else along for the ride.

Wow, what a hypocrite.

ROFL, so first you call me a socialist (as though it's some kind of slur) and then you advocate everyone being able to do whatever they like on a socialised road network. What are you going to complain about next - your electricity bill being "tracked"? Your phone call details being "tracked"? Maybe you think you're Will Smith, being chased by spooks in helicopters.

Here's an idea. If everyone should be able to "drive where and when the hell you like", let's get all 70 million of us in cars, on the road, every day. See how long your principles last then, when you can't drive your lardy arse to the chip shop? The roads are a shared resource and it makes perfect sense to plan accordingly to get the maximum benefit from them. If you don't like being tracked, walk.

Actually comrade was probably the wrong word, it was meant more in a "fuck off you little dictator" sense actually.

Yeah, chip shop, that's what everyone in England except you does with their cars

Please sir, can we all be as super special as you are since you're such a cut above...

You have to pick which is the bigger issue. Freedom, or cycling.

I completely support your ambition to have more people cycling - but never, ever, at the cost of more power in the hands of authority.

I was supposedly doing 40 in a 30 limit on a road full of cameras where I always crawl.

Got offered a course so took it to avoid points. Had to keep my mouth tightly closed as I knew all the answers and could have probably held the course.

Of course they keep sending people on them they are making thousands and thousands of pounds out of them. Can't remember the actual figures but at £80 a pop it's lots according to the Sunday Times driving section.

The course is good at explaining some of the things people have been complaining about here, like seemingly arbitrary speed limits etc.
It gave me some really useful tips for figuring out the current speed limit. Before I would sometimes be unsure until I saw a sign - it's actually a really consistent system.

I randomly watched the BBC's The Motorway: Life in the Fast Lane doc and it's useful to see things from the other side.

So all in all they're just taking the piss and earning an extra buck.
