Anyway, yes to REM - Everybody Hurts and also Eric Clapton - Tears in Heaven. There was also a heart wrenching track by Staind, but I can't for the life of me remember what it was called. If we're going for "emotion put into singing the song" then Outside (the live acoustic) has to be a personal favourite (Fred "cocksucker" Durst tries his best to ruin it, but fails).

I've never thought of that fantastic song(Indifference) as sad though, it seems to be defiant more than sad, I may be wrong, what truly matters is that it's awesome.
