Gah!

I haven't downloaded Anarchy yet as I need to clear off a fair bit of hard drive space (only have 6GB, y'know :() I hope to start playing it over the weekend.

Wij, the PM was to say check the *cough* Rune forum but you already know now.

I hope this has interested everyone. :/

tip for you. When youve installed it and updated with all patches there are two 'worlds' to play on (same world but each handled by different server) play the 2nd one. Its supposedly the most stable.

Heh heh. :D You funnee...

6GB is okay, it just means I have to uninstall games I rarely play, and burn installation files to CD now and then. Now I have broadband it is becoming a chore, however and space fills up quickly.

Think I'll treat meself to a new drive on pay day.

/edit On Scan Today: 20GB Seagate Hard Drive, 9.5ms 2Mb Cache 5400rpm ATA-100, (£61.10 inc VAT). Bit small and slow, though... Hmm...

I am looking into buy a new HD as well

I have 80Gb atm, who makes/sells the best drives around the 100-140gb mark?

Seagate, prolly. IBM took a bit of a hammering recently over defective drives, but they might be okay now.

Bit overkill for me. This one is the sort of thing I'm looking for:
61.5Gb IBM Deskstar 60GXP ATA-100 (7200rpm,2MB Cache, 8.5ms) £104.58

What concerns me is that I have an Abit KT7A-RAID system which supports ATA100, but the RAID channels are b0rked and 'lock up' every few seconds. :( Might get a SCSI card or PCI/IDE card and drive but seems a waste with a ATA100 RAID sitting there on my mobo, unused...

Anyone know any UK sites that sell HDs over 100gb? All I can see is 80gb ones

Edit : Ah - just found a 120gb one and a 100gb one on dabs

This should be in hardware forum now, but while we're on a roll...

What speed hard drives you peeps using? Is 5400rpm enough? Is there a noticeable difference with 7200rpm?

I've just ordered the 40GB version of that, along with 256mb RAM... woo!

the IBM deskstar drives are supposedly meant to be very good, and a few people I know have them are very pleased with them. although, i'm sure somebody will say they're shite ;]

Much. I'd never use a 5400rpm drive nowadays. My mp3 would span 3 of your drives. <g>

Hehehe

Broadband is eating up my disk as well. Recently downloaded every essential mix ever done, that was 20.6gb gone. Movies off Direct Connect take up another 10gb or so

That's good enough for me. 7200rpm it shall be...
