Toht, I think it is because of the way we are raised yeah. Talking about cousins now.
I know of cousins who are together, but they did adopt their kids.

I got a rather good looking 2 year younger cousin who I once were very close to be together with but luckly we didnt. Would of been quite odd at the next family reunion hehe.

At the root of it is the potential genetic consequence as some people (not all!) have correctly outlined - for that reason, it became frowned upon to breed with close relations, which became very deeply embedded within society overtime.

On top of that, it also would be associated with sexual abuse and underage sex, as the normal controls that are present in non interfamily relationships arnt present - reinforcing the society imposed stigma.

Along side that, you cannot untwine the genetic argument by say 'what if it was just sex' simply because it cannot be -even with precautions there is the risk of pregancy, and ofcourse this also ties back with the sexual abuse and underage sex issue. Society and the law doesnt impose itself on individual cases, but acts on scoiety as a whole.

But i also find outlook issues, peoples obsession with looks(even normal people do so with teeth, greasy hair, clothes, even if they are "looks mean nothing!") and other stuff like that silly too.
