Only if people's expectations aren't massively high. Most games are doomed before they start from that perspective, a lot of the experienced MMORPG players bring every expectation they've ever had from any game and bitch when new game XYZ fails to deliver it.

All the gameplay demos and info i've seen so far indicate it'll play alot like DAoC but with a different skill system (you gain skill as you use your abilities). Should be fun, night elf warrior or human mage for me

As far as Im aware there has been no official statement regarding this and its somthing Im really looking out for

Ill be there allso, but atm it seems a bit to much PvE for me, But its a game you have to try love the univers and the graphic style

Think it should be made alliance vs horde imho, dont like the idea that they group together etc, should be enemys and able to kill each other everywhere

But we will see

Btw. Ill be playing a undead mage namede Ralgedi, and a nightelf hunter namede lequin

Mostly solo and in PvP zones ^^

Release date is set currently for Jan 2004, however that aint gonna happen, more likely late 2004 (September most likely).

US based only beta? Doubtful tbh, if it is just sign up as living in Arizona or summit

For all those constantly wondering about the Beta, this is taken from Blizzard's FAQ and is as much info as they've given atm:

Can you tell us more about the beta? Will there be different phases? Will there be an open beta? Will it require an NDA?
World of Warcraft is currently in the alpha-testing stage (internal testing open to the entire company). The beta test, which is scheduled to start sometime in Q4 2003, will initially be open to players in the U.S., Canada, and Korea. Participation will require an NDA. Similarly to how we've conducted beta tests in the past, we will gradually open up the beta to more and more testers in order to gauge server stability and connectivity. While we don't know what the total number of beta testers will be yet, this will by far be our largest beta test ever.

I'm in Europe. Will I be able to participate in the World of Warcraft Beta?
We have not yet finalized our beta plans, but we do know that at some point in the process we will need to test servers worldwide. This will certainly involve Europe, but to what extent and when has not been determined.

btw alpha release is before beta
alpha release is for internal testing and development, beta for limited testing (near finished product), then Gold (means the CD's are beeing pressed )

Blizzard release games when they are happy with it, that's a perk you get from being your own publisher.

They'll need patches ofc, but I imagine it will be pretty smooth to begin with.

I got into D2 beta, will surely try get into WoW beta
