I was only made aware that there is a new Counterstrike will be coming out soon, havent not touched Counterstrike or any other games other than DiabloII for the past 3months or so, im kinda getting left behind on all this.

I dont have an interest in Doom3, or Half Life2, just Counterstrike, thats really the only game to have ever stuck out to me other than DiabloII. Now i wanna see what its all about, but everytime i do a search in Google for "Counterstrike Source Half Life" it brings up silly websites with nothing regarding the game.

Now i heard CS:S will be using a new system, not Steam, but... Source? Do you need to purchase Half Life2 or does it come like a Stand Alone like many of the other Series, how much will it cost and whats the requirements?

CS: Source comes with Half-life 2, its bascially CS but with the new engine i.e. graphics are vastly freshened up, and can have movable objects e.g. Barrels.

Stopped playing CS a year + ago but given I bought a ATI 9600XT a year ago and got the free voucher am in the Beta program for CS:Source which starts tommorow (Already got the client downloaded).

Dont expect anything new from it, just expect an update that brings it graphically a up to date, and gives map creaters a few new options in terms of movable objects.

As for requirements dont know... believe they are very low as the Half-Life 2 engine is very scalable. Check around on Valves website they will be there somewhere.

reet so its half life 2 i need? But the BETA testing is for those with an ATi card?

But i could just preorder HL2 anyway? and thats sorted?

Yup just need Half-life 2. The beta test is for ATi voucher holders or owners of CS:CZ - Which has probably resulted in a massive increase in sales of CS:CZ

But i could just preorder HL2 anyway? and thats sorted?

Yup... if your not bothered about having CD's and have broadband best bet is to download half-life 2 via steam means valve get more of the money, and you should have it ready and waiting on release day (as long as you download all the pre-download stuff).

well its been Preordered from Play... im not in a massive hurry to play it, and dont really wanna buy CS:CZ just to play it for a few weeks in BETA, whatever i miss out on here i'll probably catch up on when i get the game properly

Look on the games list, or browse game list, its pretty obvious mate.

I had same confusion Wij...

CS:CZ should actually be showing in "MY GAMES" and not in the column above it (Browse Games?). If it is, double click it and goto Registration. It then loads up STEAM again, then enter the CDKey.

It downloads it, et voila
