Many have said that this place ain't the same, that it's only gay jokes and footie, or the occasional linkdump/old threads.
Well, i can't speak for everything that happened, but i can speak of what happened to Teh Seel.
Teh Seel used to be a symbol, a name for haha and Odd. People knew this, hell, it was in my title. And people, many people i'd think would agree on this. Teh Seel was the "fun bringer" many days, with weird tales, odd songs, one liners in threads that made little sense.
So, what happened? Well, short answer would be that this place killed Teh Seel. Basicly killed the fun i'd say.
It started off small, people disliking the separete "odd" threads. Well, that happened always, and Teh Seel didn't mind. Ofcourse not everyone would like it, such is life. That didn't effect much.
Then came the "big change". People started ignoring stuff. Maybe one or two replies before teh seel posts were flooded off the page by polls, youtube links or such. So, slowly the reason to post stuff that noone watched/liked went away.
Then was left the one liners, occasional haha's and weird perverted comments. These too became soon the "hatred of the month".
Without the small comments standing a chance, how could big threads of odd survive? Those small "annoying" comments on threads kept Teh Seel's funny mood on, keeping the inner haha boiling until it erupted into a full blown thread. When that was taken away, well, there was nothing much left. The fuel to post anything else then a generic yo momma or gay joke(which is a norm in freddyshouse, remenant of barrysworld, it's part of this place) was gone. People wanted more serious topics(not you alone bugz), they didn't like silly haha, semi silly haha(which is needed to make full blown odd haha's) or anything that required more then reading two lines and clicking a link.
So, basicly, by destroying the free nature of haha, you got what you wanted. Just the serious topics(which none of the serious posters post), polls and links. Now, people want what they once couldn't stand for.
As i said, i can only say what happened to Teh Seel, i can't tell what reasons others had.
And the REAL pain? One that really "hurts"? Noone even barely noticed that Teh Seel went away. Just like an imaginary friend when you were 5, it just faded and noone stopped their complaints and asked...where'd he go?
