She said "yeah sure!" and her face lit up.

I left the office quickly, ran back in to make sure i gave her the right piece of paper - she had a massive smile as I went back in.

Awesome.

Tris you are an orangutang. Just give her one of your banana's and pick some flea's off her and you are in - its a lot more complicated for us men tbh.

Get naked then walk the 5 miles to her house. Climb the tree nearest to her bedroom and start shaking the branches and calling to her. For the authentic touch, selotape the groomings of an Irish Setter across your shoulders and forearms - a truly memorable first-encounter.

The line I used was:

"heya i need to head off for my train now and this is my last day here and i've not had a chance to speak to you all week; I was wondering if I could buy you dinner sometime, or a drink...?"

She said "yeah sure!"

I said "ok, great! here's my phone number"

Been texting all day today, she said she liked me but apparently they're under strict instructions not to fraternise with the delegates on the courses. The only way she could get her message across to me was to give me the longing looks and cute "heyas". Lucky i made the move then.

Remember to phone her at 2am every Saturday and Sunday morning, at least 8 times each morning. She'll enjoy that, honest*

I'm 26, i swore never to date someone so young as my ex (who was 21). I'm going backwards.

watch out Big G, atm I have a very low opinion of (dating) young ladies due to what I and two of my mates have been through. In fact, I'm willing to say that once over 25 you shouldn't date anyone below 24.

You ofc, will do fine, don't worry about it, I'm just being negative :/

No it's always good to be on your toes, I wouldn't say it was negative, what's destined for me won't go past me I suppose.

Thing is teeds, I dated someone my own age about a month back and I noticed that:

a) she was cynical about men
b) didn't trust men
c) asked awkward and pressing questions about past relationships
d) asked awkward questions about why i broke up with my last girlfriend and why would someone like me be single at 26
e) wouldn't let her guard down

Now, this is a pattern that i see in my oldest sister (she's 32); although she has had a steady boyfriend for the past 4 or so years, she shares similar mistrusting views about why older men would be single "are they bad news?" , "can they not commit?" etc etc. It's almost as if they've convinced themselves it won't work before a longer dating commitment.

Now, I dunno if I can be arsed with that sort of an attitude (im not saying all women that age are the same, but it appears to be a more common theme in older girls than I thought?).

I think if a girl/woman is going to be bad news, it doesn't really matter what age they are.

heh I didn't say it would be easy :) the above leads me to believe that the young woman in question had had more time to form an opinion on the average bloke, and a reasonably good idea on what she wants in a man, than a younger or less worldly one.

can you, in a non-negative manner, explain why she raised the above points?

my lovely gf sometimes grills me with things that girls call "conversations" about the reach and scope of *my* (not hers, mine ffs) feelings and future plans etc. she does this not because she wants to be nasty (though I do not find them particularly pleasant), but because she wants security about the future and that we will be there together. however horrible and pressing her questions and statements are, I'll be fucked if I'm going to deny her that security, so I struggle manfully to be as clear as I can and (fail miserably) not give her the impression that I've not actually thought about it yet heh ;)

I'm not sure really.

As we got talking and things came to light about the past (we started talking about holidays):

She said "so who did you go to vegas with?"

I said "well, it was a couple of years ago now - i went with my ex and her family" - stupid perhaps looking back.

So this lead onto "how long were you seeing her for?"

and then "so why did you break up?"

and then "five years?! were you engaged?!"

and then "do you still keep in touch?" with a raised eyebrow.

That sort of a thing. Then there was the undercurrent of cynicism in the conversation, it really did feel like I was on a date with my big sister.

Means that she is jealous and high maintenance. If she's grilling you on your first date then there is no hope in trying to get anything meaningful from her.

Infact she's probably even unlikely to want to shag you either because she now views you as an "uncommited" older man.

No.

Left it fairly cool, i went out and had a blast on Friday and Saturday, she went out and had a blast with her pals on Sunday night. Seeing her tomorrow night, then she's busy Wed through to Sat; and then dinner on Sunday night.

I like this level of involvement, it's a clear cut "we have our own lives" up front (unlike my ex, we were in each others pockets which totally killed it imo) but that doesn't stop me really wanting to see her; so it will make the time we do have together feel pretty good indeed.

Nice one dude :)

Still think you need to post pics / footage etc for us all to comment and vote on etc - performance / style / adaptability / artistic interpretation and girth.

hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahhahahahha sorry but I am still pissing myself here hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah

The reasons for her questions are simple she is just showing interest in you and really you should be showing interest in her. Especially as you get older in relationships if you dont marry your first love then for every partner or experience one has a little bit of baggage is picked up. This is not "high" maintenance or "paranoid" its just life.

Big G a little piece of advice don't EVER tell her of the existence of this place if you want to stand any chance in a long term relationship. One look at both this thread and your ex girlfriend thread should be enough for her to fucking run to the hills in terror.......

This is not meant as an insult but really I can not see that you have learned a thing since your ex dropped you like a stone... shame she couldn't find a river...

Well I never wanted to see her again after the barrage of questions.

True, she was showing interest and indeed so was I (she had an exciting career, i learned lots about that). I wanted to know about her not her past baggage. She wanted to know about my past baggage and all the reasons for. I couldn't care less about her previous conquests and their reasons for failure.

Edit: can we get an "Oprah" sub forum plz thx? :p
