No its not every night out, it is rare but it always pisses me off. I am just not great at realising that the last drink was enough. So i tend to stick to a number of drinks now a days.

Try drinking something else while out too. Few beers, few cokes/J20s or whatever. That's what I do when I am out. I am very good at knowing when I have had enough.
